As I recall, you Brits fought side by side with us in Iraq and Afghanistan. Are you a natural born Brit, and/or are your loyalties to Britain?

Yes the British are also guilty of wars of aggression. Why would I have loyalties to a chunk of rock and earth?

What are you joking? We can't win any more than we have without killing everything that moves over there. Al Qaeda's all but gone, their leaders killed, Bin Laden killed, many Taliban killed. That fight is as won as a fight can be won short of destroying the entire race. We will leave, in the exercise of mercy, victorious.

Very funny,I bet you think you won in Vietnam as well. If you fail to defeat an enemy and then run off home you have lost. That is how it works

By running off home do you mean like the way you run from one point to another?

You are either listening to FUX NEWS or living in your own fantasy land. Al Qaeda isn't gone, they just moved to Somalia. The Taliban still rule most of Afghanistan. They are the victors because they've bankrupted the U.S. economy. When you win, you're supposed to have something to show for it. All we have is a $3 trillion war debt. We didn't win in Iraq either.

Ignorance, lies and pessimism is your forte. We've pretty much completed our tasks in Iraq and Afghanistan. That's a victory. As for our debt, we were five trillion in debt, which means deeply broke, before the wars. That and since then is for the most part due to our own socialistic entitlement programs, not the middle east. As for what happens in those countries after the fact is up to them, not us. Your trying to saddle the US with other countries failures is despicable. But that's the nature of lies, ignorance, and pessimism.

You have pointlessly killed vast numbers of people to make money for Big Business, you are a completely capitalist state run by capitalist crooks, and as soon as you stop killing and thieving you'll be forgotten except as a bad smell.

You have won nothing in Iraq or Afghanistan. America bolted from Iraq leaving it in a state of war and they are about to do the same in Afghanistan.

I don't know. We feel satisfied. So it doesn't really matter to us what you think.

That's absurd. BTW, when did the capitalists install the internet in your little commune? Or maybe you grew it naturally from a peach seed? LOL! BTW, Americans just wanna work, trade and live their lives in peace. Unfortunately, your side of the earth keeps turning out murderous beasts. And what does Wales do aside from watching it happen? We have helped defend your country for a hundred years.

It seems like some folks think that wars can be fought nice and easy without anyone getting wounded or killed. That's not going to happen. The guy was thrown into the meat grinder four times. How would you handle something like that without going crazy?

Blame the politicians for starting the war and for continuing it for ten years. Personally I wouldn't find the guy guilty of anything. He and all of the others are there on our behalf so if anyone is guilty it's all of us for putting them there in the first place.

The bottom line: if you don't want things like this to happen don't go running off to get in a fight in which others have to suffer for your bravado.

His name is Staff Sgt. Robert Bales. When he kills 16 innocent women and children, it's the "FOG OF WAR" "PTSD". But when Maj. Nidal Hasan kills 13 at Ft. Hood Tx. it's "GET A ROPE". See it all depends on whether it's a crazy christian or a crazy muslim soldier.

I think you're wrong. Hasan wore the same uniform as the troops that he killed. He's a traitor for doing that. If he had been in Iraq or in Afghanistan and killed some locals I would support him.

Perhaps to some, but they all go before a judge and they'll both be punished in the end.

What gets me is the instant excuses that come up. This guy had a traumatic brain injury? He hit is head hard? OK. That doesn't mean he's brain dead and there are plenty of people who have had their bells rung quite severely and guess what? The deploy without killing 16 innocent people. Without murdering children.

I for one and tired of people looking for excuses for this guy. As a combat vet, I can say quite simply, we are not victims. Sure a break now and then is appreciated, but giving a guy a chance who has served vs. excusing murder or poor behavior is silly. Soldiers understand discipline, and in this case, boy'o lost it.

I don't feel sorry for him, I feel sorry for the innocent Afghans who dies, and the Americans and other NATO Soldiers who will die because this DS handed our enemies an opportunity for 'revenge'.

One thing the military gets right? When you screw up, you are held accountable, and this dork screwed the hell up in a massive way. He's going to pay for it.

You are correct. Also this guy goes out on purpose to murder Afghan civilians,he planned this but he is not classed as evil or the like in the media he is classed as mad, like he went bonkers. He did not go bonkers,he went and butchered those people for a reason and that was I feel revenge. As you say if it was a member of the Taliban who did the same thing the media would be calling him everything under the sun but this yank is getting the oh he banged his head,oh he was not in his right mind due to this excuse and that excuse, well all that is BS.

So lets be clear on this.

You would support an american soldier killing in your words 'locals'

But as you know, this topic is discussing a usa soldier killing 9 children, several under the age of 6. Which one 2 year old girl was shot at point blank range.

Is this your belief of the american military?

No this is not my belief of what our military is about. I think the solider was a monster. He killed children as well as unarmed civilians. That is not what we stand for in America. There were afghan soliders if he wanted vengeance it would still been wrong. Yet nothing is lower than harming children.

The American military thinks that might be what it's about. General Allen warned his troops in Afghanistan that "Now is not the time for revenge!" when 2 troops were killed following the Koran burning. What kind of professionally trained disciplined forces need to be told that? Maybe the sergeant thought that after three weeks, now was the time.

How many of the mugs woke up one day and thought, 'Oh - let's invade Afghanistan and kill everyone'? Empires are established to benefit politicians and Big Business, and are no excuse for child-murder by drunks, EVER!
