I have no idea what point you are attempting to make with that video Albert, but that woman had such a dreadful accent, and such poor diction, that I was hard pressed to understand a word she said. I did not persist to the end, but when she stated that white people are an ethnic minority in Great Britain, I had had enough nonsense.

This is a discussion forum, wherein the medium is the written word. The occasional YouTube clip is amusing, and may add to the points made, but in isolation, does not comprise debate.

 

I consider you to be a valuable contributor to discussions on this site, and I hope you do not decide to go elsewhere. Whilst I agree that the moderation here is more tolerant than most, I cannot agree that is undesirable. I have posted at a modest number of places, and I find the moderation here to be judicious and well balanced. Not unlike yourself, I would prefer that certain nutters not be here, but, as the song goes - "You can't always get what you want."

With no disrespect intended towards my many American friends, this board, and most others, are dominated by posters from the USA. What this means is the characteristics of the US population (predominantly religiosity and conservatism,) and their socio-political divisions, colour every topic under discussion - political or otherwise. This is practically unavoidable if the vast majority of posters are from one, particularly idiosyncratic, society.

However, we should be grateful for the number of balanced, intelligent, sensible, and diplomatic American posters we have here, and the excellent debate that promotes. There are extremists and trolls on either side of the political and sociological spectrum, and they are best ignored whenever possible.

'Do not feed the trolls.' is an excellent warning if one wishes to avoid a tedious exchange of interminable and mindless insults.
