According to the Philanthropy Roundtable, the Olin Foundation "dispensed hundreds of millions of dollars to scholars, think tanks, publications, and other organizations" and "shaped the direction and aided the growth of the modern conservative movement that first sprang into visibility in the 1980s."[3]According to the New York Observer, the Foundation distributed "grants to conservative think tanks and intellectuals-the architects of today’s sprawling right-wing movement-for a quarter-century."[4]

BTW the Olin foundation disbanded in 2005, so whats your point referring to munitions manufacuring...!!!

If you bordered a country and they were flooding in at 1500 a day illegally you might feel differently. America is if anything multicultural and always has been but we are also a country of law.

I lived on the border in the 50s and 60s. Now when I go to a city, almost any city, in the US it is almost like a border town. On the border now if you go into a convenience store, often the person behind the counter can't even speak English. Now up north if you hire a contractor the men that show up often cannot speak English. I had an issue with the roofing job done by a local company. The man that they sent out to settle the issue couldn't speak English.

We need to stop the flood of illegal aliens into the country first. We need to remove the criminal element of the illegal aliens already here. Then we need to take time to assimilate those that do not have American values or can't even speak the language.

Well ordered immigration is fine. Unlawful immigration is not and any country has the right to control who it allows in. I'm not a big fan of assimilation but I do believe in the rule of law and as long as that's observed then that's ok.

The problem here is that the uni-party has allowed it to go on for so long that it is now a crisis situation that cannot be remedied easily.

Now now don't get hysterical

The point is that mass unchecked immigration is a blind path to failure. No-one is trying to stop immigration, but allowing masses of unchecked people into a country, settling the bulk of them into one city, putting them on welfare and then having to spend many millions of dollars to counteract the consequences is not a wise thing to do in anyone's language. Especially those who do not align themselves with the country who so graciously accepts them. It's a recipe for disaster.

The rule of law itself promotes a certain degree of assimilation, or should if administered without prejudice.

I couldn't believe ME ears, and yep that singlet, it's better then ME Tshirt, and yeah he is not a hero like he says, he is just doing what any Aussie would do if their fish shop was smashed into, of course if it wasn't a the fish shop, if it had been my or your car or house. "Didnt see nothing mate, heard a big bang and ME missus said someone ran into some dudes car/house. Well you would go look, but mate, I was in my jocks, I couldn't chase him."

Blind mass immigration isn't an issue.

Nobody is in favor of that. Nobody is proposing that.

Beyond that, we tolerate significant political differences of opinion and culture, including opinion on what we are doing to/for those living in other countries.

Maybe if we had more Syrians here we would come up with a better direction on how we could be effective there. Today, precious few Americans know what's going on there even though the internet is open to all and even though the nightly news makes its pathetic little efforts. So, America dumps on various ideas and promotes others with almost no information. Our form of government doesn't work well with that.

What is the "it" that you think has become a crisis?

That's exactly right, so why do I need to get a clue. In the past 10 or so years the number of illegals in the US has remained steady at around 10 million.

It is the ones in the workforce that are the issue. In 2005 there was around 7 million illegals in the workforce, approximately double what it was in 1995.
However since 2005 it maxed out at around 2008 at 8.3 million dropping back to around 8 million in 2009 and has remained fairly stable around the 8 - 8.1 million.

So give me a clue, how do you get the 10's of millions?

A question for our learned panel.

When does one cease becoming an invader/settler/coloniser and become a migrant/refugee.

It still means you need a clue. With 1500 crossing daily it means someone is not good with math.

So I see, but never mind, most systems have a calculator you can use or if you are old school like me you just work it out in your head.

365 days in a year and 1 thousand 5 hundred people a day would be 365 thousand plus 182.5 thousand (please sing out if I am going to fast for you) equals 547,500 or a bit over half a million, therefore it would take 40 years before it became 10's of millions, if all lived, none went home and none became legal citizens. But in the past 10 years it has neither grown nor declined, so there must be a proportionate number leaving or becoming legal.

You don't have to tell everyone you are no good at math, they can see that.

Good answer, I never expected it so soon, but I did forget the slippery fellow. It is not all the answers though, according to Newtonian relativity there is more than one answer.

I am pro-multiculturism, but even then within limits.

I don't want the world to see us only like that though, 40 years ago we were.

I'm glad you had a smiley face after hysterical. I thought you were being serious.

Anyway, let's have a look at what hysteria looks like:

Who wants unchecked immigration? I don't think the leftist of the left want that. It's a ridiculous comment.

Who is settling the bulk of them into one City. This is another comment straight from the book of hysteria!

Who says they are a financial burden? Is it the investor who has Purchased another investment property and home owner who's property is now worth 10% more because of demand? Is it the shop keeper who now has a few more customers and can now afford to employ more people, including immigrants?

I don't want a country full of bogans because some want an homogenous society. I want a country that has difference. The same people who don't want immigrants generally don't like anyone unless they sound the same, walk the same, talk the same, sing the same, What a god dang boring arse society of black and white!

People who don't like multiculturalism a dominated by fear. Yeah, it's that simple. Fear brings response of nastiness and when they bite back then all of a sudden clowns cry that multiculturalism doesn't work. Yeah, I'm serious!
