Prove it. All of your hysteria was uncalled for when Florida passed its "shall issue" carry law. It'll be the same if school faculty was allowed to be armed.

At one time past, many Grandma's carried a tiny revolver in an apron pocket, a snubby S&W in .32 long or a Colt Police Positive snubby .32 long, and very few knew Grandma was packing, without a CCW !

If I can trust a teacher to be with my children all day long, then I want that teacher to be able to defend my children with a small concealable holstered sidearm.

I 100% support the 2nd, in fact probably more so then you as I support ex-felons having the right to protect their homes and families too

that said, the more guns in an environment, the more potential gun mishaps that are posible

I can apply that logic to cars. Owning one increases the chance of being in a car accident. That's just the risk you have to take if you are really for the right to keep and bear arms.

Also, as older folks here can verify, I have interviewed countless people over 60-70 years old in the 1980's that told of how they would take rifles to school for to hunt after school, it was no big deal, in the cloak room, stacks of unloaded rifles, imagine ? guns in schools ? student guns ? yet there were no school shootings, no one thought of using a gun to settle an arguement.

How is 1935 any different than 2016 as far as people are concerned ? Teachers carried in those days by the way, nobody was too worried if a few teachers carried, it was not that big a deal.

Now if Lee Page was a teacher, I might need to worry...... lol

Depends on the 18 year old, besides 18 and still in high school ? many graduate early, I did at 16... lol......

I remember a thug threatened the life of my favorite shop teacher, I later had a nice talk with thugster and changed his mind !

Even if less than 1% carry, removing a school's gun free zone status and having the potential that teachers and staff may be armed will likely result in psychos looking for another, risk and gun free place to shoot up...

1% should be the max. This idea of having all or most teachers armed is ridiculous and no country in the world would even consider it except here in gun crazy USA.

No one will force you to (except private schools maybe) but if you want to then you should be allowed. And why is it ridiculous?

These teachers are already legally carrying in public, and for some reason their concealed firearm is not jumping out of its concealment and randomly shooting people. Why would these guns start suddenly start shooting people?

Your argument is not based in sound fact, but rather in emotional fear.

Exactly. In a school of 45 teachers, I remember there were perhaps five that owned hand guns. NONE of the women had any desire to carry a gun. At the HIGHSCHOOL and college level, people forget that these are intellectuals who read and study and actually believe legitimate studies done. They know that the chances of someone getting killed by accident with a bunch of non professionals having guns in a class room is greater then any good they can do.

One of most difficult things a trained officer has to do is make an arrest and at the same time, keep his gun secure while invading someone's personal space. I guess no one who proposed this dumb idea ever saw hallways during passing time when hundreds of adult size kids are elbow to elbow. Any 120 lb teacher would find it impossible to maintain a secure hold on even a holstered gun.

Teachers are really busy. They don't want one more item they have to keep locked up all the time. It's crazy. Many schools in our state have a cop on duty in the schools. You want more security, hire more trained cops. These suggestions are from non intellectuals who don't know that thinking people don't want guns when they can cause more problems then they solve. Secure the doors, have more one way doors and secure the outside entrance areas. They want more cops. Why ? Because they read. Parents of small kids in grade schools would be absolutely livid thinking their teachers had guns.

Teachers are always in very crowded environments. In the math and English department in a school I know

the have two males out of a total of nine teachers and the women had no interest in learning how to carry and keep secure and be responsible for a gun. It was discussed in teacher's meetings in several schools I know of ( I was a sports official so I traveled about) when this topic first surfaced and NO ONE, even in rural in communities where everyone hunted it seemed, thought guns around crowds of kids was a good idea. These kids are packed in like sardines during every passing time between classes. One accident, and the town would be sued like you would not believe. If a school has security problems, hire more police. They have liability protection and training.

Does anyone remember how much chaos there is in a school between classes. Is there anyone who has in a live fire situation as a cop or military and know how chaotic it can be ? I gurantee. The more guns you have I schools the more shootings you would have.....

So far only spurious reasons have been given as to why a teacher should not be armed for reasons of personal defense, the old tired arguements against concealed carry died long ago,
I heard all this 40 years ago, it was false then, it is false now, if a person can be trusted around our children and not a pervert or a raper, and has obtained a concealed carry permit, then I trust them to safeguard the children.

    So What ?

An armed teacher can save the day !

    Again, you are wrong.
Yes, as a matter of fact, I do.... been there.

I guess your gun fights were quite organized on your video games. "Bad guys, stand up and raise your hand". Sounds like Trump's plan to keep Mulsims out of the US is the same as your attempt to organize fun fights. He says " ask them, if they say yes, you don't let them in"

So a shooter will announce himself and a cop can easily identify you. You are delusional.....but you have your NRA talking points down.
