I have seen some ethical 13 year olds I would trust my life to, and 60 year olds I would scarcely trust as far as I could throw them.

The noahs ark one was the only one that I have read and remembered, if I knew the others, I probably would have listed them too. Or I would have not listed any at all.

Why post the thread though if it is already happening, if that is all he is going for.

To me it seemed it was posted as a suggestion and maybe I read to much into it, but the tone suggested that this is a thing that should be encouraged, like a cultural improvement type thing.

The OP specifically talked about teachers "who want" to carry at school. That's all we are advocating.
CCWs have proven themselves to be law abiding.

I wasn't trying to cast doubt on young cops. I was trying to show how not trusting a teacher who not only is responsible enough to finish college, deal with kids daily, get training, pass a background check, but also be willing to protect their students is irrational if they trust a young cop with only half of those qualifications carrying a gun openly in the same school.

Why do you care what his religious beliefs are, and why would you make a mockery of such?

I don't care what the mans religious beliefs are, how much money he makes, what the color of his skin is, or if he collects dolls as a hobby. Anyone who stands up to resist fascists, those who threaten our freedoms, and lives an honest life is all that matters.

Attacking his beliefs says a lot more about you than it does him.

What matters to each individual is different

I have not mocked his beliefs I have just stated them.

Just like if I was say he was pro abortion or against it.

Why I said noahs ark is because that is what his thread was one, it wasm't I believe in god it was as per how I have repeated it.

As for attacking someones beliefs, if I believe that all guns should be taking away and melted, and you disagree and attack that proposition with whatever argument suits your beliefs, does that say something about you.

Sometimes people like to hide behind anonymous segmented personality types where they only show certain hands to certain people, all I am doing is revealing more of the hand. The OP is welcome to show more if he believes I am painting an unfair picture or disagree with anything where I have misdirected what he was intending to say.

    This guy? as in me?

of course not all students are abusive, some are some arent. Some are nice sometimes, sometimes everyone is having a bad day.

Eitherway I am pretty confident you can imagine circumstances (or remember them) when classes were an unruly abusive type place.

I do not know american law (or gun law especially) or state by state law as well as you.

If we are talking about a situation where schools / teachers aren't allowed guns and the op is suggesting the law should be changed to allow those who want to carry to be able to, then my answer would still be that if there is a risk that requires someone armed to look after students, an appropriately trained law enforcement or security personnel should fill that role.

If he is suggesting as what I inferred (possibly incorrectly) that teachers should be encouraged to carry gun as a cultural improvement type thing as opposed to a law change, then I stand by my position that it imo it will make that community worse not better, if measured on a wide scale.

And this thread has nothing to do with religious beliefs, so it is not on topic, and against the forum rules.

We are not debating the poster, we are debating the issue, so if you want to debate someone on religion, do it there. A belief in God and a belief in firearm ownership are two entirely different subjects. No pun intended.

Have a shooting club at school for the older kids and just firearms safety for the younger. I'd even advocate that kids can bring toy guns to play with at recess.

What kind of country have we become where EVERYONE has to be armed at all times to be safe? This is ridiculous. Just speaking STATISTICALLY if you take millions of guns and put them in the vicinity of millions of children for millions of man hours a day just the level of accidents alone with significantly increase. Now we have not even mentioned teachers in high school that get overpowered by two big kids who then start shooting. This is not Somalia or the Sudan. Have one person at that school armed and that person is not in constant contact with the children. What civilized country does this? That we would even consider it shows the level of madness we have achieved regarding guns in this country.

And now for the personal attacks.....

No personal attacks, but your theories hold no water, like a boat with many holes, yet you keep launching it after a thin coat of paint to cover the major holes in your arguements.

You keep reducing anyone that believes in the efficacy of firearms as a Bubba or some redneck mental defective or other cartoon depiction.

Truth is, many of us here are certified firearms Instructors and have trained many people.

I know first hand the fallacies of Bower Birds statements, I do know guns say lives, Bower Bird does not live in America, yet quotes blind statistics that relate to crimes in gang ridden areas as a reason for gun control when the FBI cautions against ranking or comparing crime stats or making assumtions based merely on these statistics.

It is not a simple matter of gun control, it is a matter of realizing guns are not the problem.

How does a nutter even get into a school to begin with ? even an unarmed nutter in a school around kids is a poor idea, why not address that issue first ?

It is a matter of simple math. Increase the number of man hours that a dangerous object has around children and statistically the number of accidents will increase. It is not worth it for the very few times it will be needed to defend those kids. It will result in more children being hurt or killed. I'm sorry if you don't like the math but that doesn't change the math. This is a ridiculous idea and the reason no country in the world has adopted this plan. But it says a lot about gun fever in this country

that is crazy, no.... we do not need to make it easier for mass shooters to get guns in

even cops shot kids with toy guns, we expect teachers to know the difference?

This is not the case. It is proven that there has been an explosion in gun purchases and CCW's. The increased man hours of CCWs carrying a "dangerous object" around their children and children in the public, has not increased the number of gun accidents of children.
The "simple math" of yours just doesn't pan out for you.
You project your fears, but your fears do not show up in the reality of the increase of childrens' exposure to these dangerous objects.

By this logic, we should disarm cops. We should also just give up cars likewise.

Are cops around children all day? Are they highly trained individuals? Is there a society that has given up cars?

I do see your point and I recognize that a direct increase in guns has NOT resulted in an increase in gun accidents and deaths. But This would take that increase and multiply it substantially. Millions of children would be directly exposed to the presence of guns for many millions of more man hours every day. I can not see how this would not lead to MORE accidents and deaths and I assume this is why NO country does it this way.

Irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant. Trained concealed carry teachers would go unnoticed much like any other concealed carry person in public. Having no one to detour a shooter isn't working out well.

You are talking in future tense...... like the increased exposure regarding children and firearms has not already happened. That ship has sailed. The increased of children exposed to firearms has already happened. Guess what.... as you noted.... there has not been an increase in children gun accidents.
There is no reason to believe that responsible trained teachers would result in deaths of school children. The students would never know who is carrying and who is not.

You forget that maths is a part of University, even Medicos need study maths, and "Probability & Statistics" is a part of that beginning with the ubiquitous coin toss experiment, 50% / 50% odds.

, However such math is simplistic, in nature, not taking into account multiple factors. you needs build an armature, in order to study details, with cell structure in order to fully visualize the entire picture of any study in medicine, for example.

Pharmacology studies use a double blind system & placebos, to prevent skew in statistics, sadly lacking in gun control arguements.

To many involved, being a Medical professional seems a contradiction in terms as to the Hippocratic oath, however, I am dedicated to saving lives.

I know that firearms are as effective an instrument as a Surgeon's scalpel, both can hurt, both can save.

It'll be just shooters because by the time he start killing people they'll be at least one gun firing back at him.
I'm not talking about airsoft guns at recess I was talking about nerf guns and cap pistols and they'll be in a special place to play with them.
