Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab said that Tuesday’s explosion in the Lebanese capital “will not pass without accountability” and “those responsible will pay for what happened.”

He said that an investigation into the explosion will include “revelations that will be announced about this dangerous warehouse which has been present since 2014,” without providing any additional details.

Describing the explosion as a “catastrophe,” he said in a televised statement that the priority now was to recover the dead and treat the injured.

He concluded by making “an emergency call to all those countries who love this country to stand by us and to help us heal our deep wounds.”

Article I read said that the orange cloud afterward was indicative of a nitrate explosion.

 

Why the hell would you have a warehouse of high explosives in a city since 2014? Some of that stuff gets more unstable the longer it sits, look at the nitroglycerin "sweat" that comes off of stored dynamite.

 

There was a big plume of grey smoke and fire, then a second huge explosion. Fireworks warehouse right next to Hezbollah explosive warehouse???

You know I like to hear things go boom and know just enough to know I should not mess with anything more powerful than fireworks for just this reason. Why that warehouse was not in the middle of the desert is insane and if the account is true, Lebonese officials have only them selves to blame. Growing up in the country, lets just say I'm lucky to have all my fingers and we made the TP roll in the house rattle once from about 50 ft outside. Note, do not mix oxygen and propane in a large garbage bag.

This was published 5 days ago as a warning. Today’s attack, confirmed, is Israel protected by Trump teaching helpless Lebanon a lesson.

 

To be honest, I did not read the entire article I linked to, so maybe I missed the anti-Trump angle. VT are not fans of Trump.

It seems likely to have been done by Israel, and Bibi and Donald are very best of friends.

Depending on photo analysis, modern cameras and their pixels can distinguish between a nuclear explosion and conventional. Nukes do something special to the pixels it seems.

 

We shall see but it looks like their president stated it was explosives stored in a warehouse since 2014
