D.C. police are looking for a suspect they say shot at least one person at the Washington Navy Yard Monday morning.

According to police spokesman Officer Anthony Clay , there is an &#8220;active shooter&#8221; on the grounds of the Navy Yard in Southeast Washington.

Clay said that only one person has been confirmed shot, and that person&#8217;s condition was not immediately available.

The U.S. Navy said that three shots were fired around 8:20 a.m. at the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters building, where about 3,000 people work.

A &#8220;shelter in place&#8221; order has been issued for Navy Yard personnel, authorities said.

Was listening to reports on the radio as this happened.

Brought to mind some important questions:

1) How will the left use this in their usual gun control rants that only take place after shootings?

2) If this is an "active shooter"... are the rest of us "inactive shooters" ?

3) Will Obama call this one "workplace violence" too? Or is the shooter a white American, in which case maybe "terrorism" will be the verdict.

 

Is someone following Biden's advice? How could this happen in DC with their strict gun laws?

This article says 3 people shot. It started almost a hour ago it is also on CNN

 

It is in the building that controls our navy so I would imagine even tighter security.

Edit. Fox news said a shotgun but I have not heard that anywhere else. I do not see how you sneak a shotgun in. Unless it is like Fort Hood.

 

One has to wonder how the shooter got in shotgun in its not like its standard issue.....

It's standard issue that every shooter is a white supremacist republican male until otherwise noted!

Not very bright then they issue M-16 or M-4 AR-15 is civilian.

 

Interesting i guess the type of gun he is using is more important then what the shooter looks like.

 

Lets hope they get the person soon and not make this into a flame fest. Please. This is a serious situation, people are hurt.

They keep adding to the number I heard 4 now. It looks even more serious than that they have a triage set up on a bridge.

 

As serious as it is, let's raise some questions:

1) It's in the heart of Washington and the military, thereby tight, REAL tight security protocols. How did the gunman get his hand on an AK-15?
2)It's entirely possible that the FBI, etc already tracked this guy down and are using his shooting spree to continue to promote the curtailment on the 2nd amendment.

Basically, ever since the Reichstag Fire, we cannot 100% believe a government's response until they themselves verify it with 100%(or even 120%) accuracy.

 

Which is why we are wondering why there is no description of the shooter... Why warn people to be on the look out if they dont know what they are looking for. It causes more panic.

 

How about they cautioned people about the shooting, not the shooter?

 

That was a news report it does not appear they have found the shooter. I doubt it would be a AR more likely a M-16 likely the reporter does not know the difference.

I just heard he has blocked himself in a room in the building.

 

Right now, everything is not much more than a mere guess. I find it completely acceptable to just wait until all the facts come in. That's all.

M-16 is the military full auto version and not very common in the civilian world.

AR-15 is the semi-auto version which is very common outside the military.

 

If true, yet another statistic. Surely in one way or another will be blamed on those of us who supposedly suppress the guy
