this (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) shot at his upstairs neighbor and shot out someone's tires.

he should have lost his right to buy/own firearms and then had a psych eval before getting it back.

I am not really sure what you meant to say here, My single gun is no threat to an oppressive govt, all the citizen's guns combined are a serious threat. .

So he's not sane enough to own a gun, but he's sane enough to work for the Government and get security clearance?

Tell that to Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. There is a reason globalists don't want Americans to have small arms, and it isn't because they care about school kids getting shot. One doesn't have to win a war. They simply have to outlast, and guarantee no commerce until the enemy gives up. No foreigner or elitists is as vested as the human being who calls said place home.

    In post # 502 you stated :
"The first one was the Texas Tower in 1963. About the time the NRA began to switch from being an organization devoted to gun safety and ramping up their propaganda to sell as many guns as they could to as many people as possible, no matter what.
And please tell us how restrictions on people owning guns makes it easier for mentally ill people to get them?"

When I replied : "So the NRA is a gun shop then?", you complained to the mods. Can you justify this?

Now you are strongly suggesting that the NRA has an agenda of "making sure that every person in America, even criminals and the mentally ill, has only the price as being their sole limitation on access to any gun they wish for any reason"

Unless you can prove your accusations, you are by definition, guilty of slander, : "false or malicious claims that may harm someone's reputation".

The methods that you have employed, present your argument in a highly negative manner. Your argument, is a strong argument, against your agenda.

Australia has strict firearms laws, but in practice, anyone can own any firearm they want. The strict laws, actually created a market for criminal importation, and black market sale of firearms. I`m not against firearm licensing, but the reality is that laws need to be aimed at criminals, not responsible citizens.

I worked in the Prime Contractor/Federal Government space for many years, and I can tell you that you are RIGHT! Through the years we saw one situation after another in which government contracting and compliance officers were evaluated with increased emphasis on how many contracts they "set-aside" 100% for "small business", and especially those that were MINORITY OR WOMAN-OWNED! They also had quotas that set targets for optimal "minority participation" and "inclusion" factors in designated "zones". The contracting officers that played ball got good reviews and promotions. The ones that didn't go along with this socialistic horsecrap simply got to tread water for another year (nobody ever got fired, though -- after all this IS the government).

But did this practice apply to the "inclusion" of minority applicants for security clearances, so that they could be counted in "minority participation" roll-up's? Oh, HELL NO! SURELY NOT! SURELY not... surely not... surely not...? :roflol: So let's be sure and continue betting the security and safety of the United States of America on giving unqualified, undesirable individuals national security clearances and see what happens! Oh, wait! We already DID, at the Washington Navy Shipyard, yesterday!

Hint: this Aaron Alexis piece of (*)(*)(*)(*) had been arrested, TWICE, for weapons violations -- but, his security clearance was renewed just this past July, and, of course, he was Black! Read it and puke: http://etfdailynews.com/2012/09/09/what-is-the-real-unemployment-rate-indexsp-inx/

He was a minority, so his background and prior deeds and accomplishments, as well as prior run ins with the law meant nothing - an affirmative action comes first.

Sort of reminds you how some of our top minority candidates can get top political jobs without having a clue as to how to do the job...

You have to take a lie detector test to get a security clearance, pretty sure after this they are going to be asking potential holders about their mental health status.

If they play violent video games, etc....

The main purpose for secret clearances are to ensure patriots are being hired, minorities and women included, people have careers they can't lose their clearances because of minor offenses.

Snowden possessed a secret clearance and didn't have any charges, but he was the real threat to the United States over someone with a minor weapon or drug offense.

They certainly lack self-control and sensitivity. As far as the false flag if this was such a act, those reponsible need to go back to false flag school. This will likely increase difficulty in getting a security clearance. As well as security around mitary bases and government buildings. I do not see any possibility this will sway congress into supporting gun control. That battle will be after 2014 if the democrats gain seats in congress.

So this guy turns out to be a schizophrenic. If you know anything about this very bad ailment, there is not hope for it going away. People can sometimes manages through use of drugs but there is not a cure for it. Depending on the severity of it it can be very bad and it can come on sudden. People hear voices and typically from God. Often the voices tell the individual to kill people. In addition to this, Alexis purchased a shotgun, not anything resembling an assault rifle. He had a gun license. The issue in this instance has nothing to do with gun restrictions at all.

What it does have to do with is how can a man be reported to the police for a fit of rage shooting out tires on a car on the street and not be sent in to be examined by a doctor when he was clearly exhibiting mental illness? In addition to this I read he called in to the Police and told them about hearing voices and such. Classic schizophrenia symptoms. This guy had three incidents where the Police had occasion to deal with his illness or at the very least report it in a proper way.

What is wrong with the system is we have changed the rules to take great care not to offend someone's "civil liberties". This guy needed to be handcuffed and taken to the hospital for examination years ago. This has been true of all of the kooks that have had obvious brush ups with authorities before they went on their rampages. The system of police needing to be so worried about offending someone's civil liberties has lead directly to this.

Their behaviours are abnormal to what they should be, anyone can see this.

More than merely 'lacking self control' (whatever that means here).

They were enjoying their 15 minutes of fame. The were not PC and not really concerned with the loss of life. Media loves drama and I assume the guy was law enforcement. I have seen both standing around laughing and joking as a young man lay bleeding out on the street. Of course they were smart enough to turn the camera off.

If you can prove I made a complaint to the Mods please do so and I will withdraw it as it must have been a mistake. I made no such complaint to my recollection and would not. I truly have no idea of what you are talking about there.

As for what I said being slander please reread the articles I cited. One is rather clear in saying that the NRA is against ANY kind of gun regulation, and that is their right, just as it is mine to point it out and be against it. My main objection to the NRA is that they are a Trade Association masquerading as a citizen's group because they allow citizens to join

You're all about not overturning anything on the Bill of Rights, do you want to overturn the right of free expression and not allow anyone to be against gun ownership or say anything "negative" about the NRA?

Maybe for me and you. Media never really cares for the victims they are only interested in the story. Natural disaster and other tragedies they seek out people in shock to increase ratings. Law enforcement is likely because they become desensitized. Unless something like Sandy Hook with the little kids or 9/11 with the mass fatalities they learn to ignore it and do there jobs.

Also if you read this thread you will see that abnormal behavior like you refer is more normal than we care to admit. In all honesty this thread was not as bad as many others on PF.

It is hard to judge people just using how you or I would react. I have been to funerals were people have laughed like in the video you posted. Then a few minutes later they were sobbing uncontrollably. So just judging them on a 30 sec. clip is hard to do accurately.

Well, no, the main purpose of the screening for clearances is, ultimately, to probe for, and determine two things: because of the way you live and conduct yourself, are you vulnerable to being bribed or compromised by enemies of the United States, and, if so, would you LIE about it?

Example: You ran yourself $40,000 in debt, farting around with cars, fancy clothes, vacations, high-maintenance poozle, expensive toys, etc. You've been in debt nearly all of your adult life, and you've shown no real signs of doing anything about it. You would very probably get taken out of consideration for a clearance. Why? Because you're irresponsible, immature, and vulnerable to anyone who come along and says, "Hey, tell us what you know about XYZ, and we can hook you up with over $50K if the info's good! Give me your answer now!"

Example, the examiners don't really care a fig if you've smoked grass, porked teenage girls while you were a teenager, or stolen a case of beer and lied to your parents about it. BUT, brother, if you LIE about it to them during an interrogation for a security clearance -- you're OUT -- fast! And they won't ask you twice!

At least, that's the way it used to be, back when they actually gave a (*)(*)(*)(*) about what kind of person got a security clearance. And back then, a pile of criminal, scumbag (*)(*)(*)(*) like Aaron Alexis would never have gotten a security clearance renewed, and most likely would never have gotten a security clearance of any kind in the first place....

I basically agree with most of what you say here. Most mentally ill people pose no risk to anyone. The vast majority that do that threat is mainly to themselves. I agree no gun laws that would be even remotely constitutional would have had no impact on this situation.
Most people do exhibit red flags before they go to the extreme of murder. Yet a overburden prison system does not allow many minor offenses to be punished. This was a apparentlyintelligent guy(before this) he spoke 3 languages and likely could talk his way out of the problems. If he had been a thug or gangster police or procecuters would not have been so kind. He was likely a sociopath he shunned most human contact but could appear very normal if he had to.

This I basically completely disagree with civil rights are more important than a little safety. By the same token some people believe that removing all civilian firearms would make us safer. You and them are both wrong in my opinion. There are many countries with violence much high than ours that allow almost no civil freedoms to their citizens. It results in terrorism and brutality you can not pass laws based on extreme cases. Mass shootings and serial killers are not able to be stopped. We should try to improve enforcement of laws that already exist and try to mitigate them. We will never stop all people that do not act in rational ways. Our civil rights are too important to sacrifice for ineffective solutions.
