The thing is that I honestly don’t think it would have been different if trump would have won. He constantly said he wanted to give people more free money and didn’t feel the first one was good enough.

 

I didn't agree with it then, but at that time people were forced out of work, the economy was shut down in many places. That's not the case now and hasn't been for quite some time. Did you think it was designed to be permanent? Once giveth, you cannot taketh away?

Employers are begging for employees, the deadbeats can go to work and pay their rent.

 

I think there will be a giant game of musical chairs. People that owe a years back rent will leave and move to a new place that is desperate for someone that can pay rent after they kick out the person that could not. None of this will show up on a credit check yet so people will just move and the landlords will be ****ed when it comes to back rent.

I think it should have ended a while ago, but it is just fun to watch the Trumpers blaming Joe for it all as if it was all his idea when not a single one of them can show a post complaining when Trump did it.

 

I remember lots of discussion when Trump and governors did it and many disagreed with it then. Sounds like you're inventing a non existent argument for the purpose of bitching about Trump rather than the current administration and their mishandling of the situation.

 

No one owes a years back rent. My parents are landlords and this program gave them government money to cover for their rent. The thing is that the only way they got this money was to file a jobless claim from the tenet. So the reason they were living rent free (loss of job due to covid). Many enjoyed this and never went back to work. So they will face eviction if they can not pay from here forward.

I don’t this this eviction moratorium was ever designed just to allow everyone to stop paying even if they had a job still.

 

Yet I cannot find a single post from any Trumpian doing so. weird.

The current administration is just as ****ed up and inept as the previous one, fighting over which is worse is like fighting over which of the 3 stooges is the funniest.

 

A guy I talk to on another forum has 3 rental properties and two of them have not paid rent since last March. He is in Cali so he still cannot evict them.

 

Which govt.? Since the feds have already doled out the funds it is the states that are dragging their feeties. How about us folks who don't get help paying the rent or mortgages who were affected by corvid just as much as those that get help? Is there a pat on the back available, and an "atta boy" oratory?

In a Marxist society it is. Not in a free market and a constitution that protects the right of private property. If the government assumes it as theirs to let people live in rent free that essentially declaring eminent domain.

Eminent domain refers to the power of the government to take private property and convert it into public use. The Fifth Amendment provides that the government may only exercise this power if they provide just compensation to the property owners.

To radical Democrats it's all a numbers game. They calculate, accurately, that there are a hell of a lot more people who can't/won't/don't pay their rent than there are landlords. Result? One political manipulation and welfare scam after another which results in Democrat politicians being CEMENTED in power positions, elected by a growing population of people who don't pay their own way in life.

Don't worry... in about another ten years, China and Russia will begin to project a new economic reality on the world that won't allow this 'something-for-nothing' horseshit to continue. This new reality won't be anything that we in the United States will enjoy, but because we have been stupid, negligent, and because we have invited parasitism by everyone from homeless bums to stock market gamblers into our economic life, we'll be forced to live with it.
