I think a lot of the gun control measures are pointless and too strong. However, we aren't all living in fear due to not being allowed to keep a fully loaded AR-15 sitting next to the telly.

If you asked the average bloke in the street, he'd say, ah um well, really doesn't matter to me. We all feel pretty safe and secure in our little land down under, just don't go starting anything to upset that. We can be a mean bunch in a fight, even if we don't pack a weapon.

As a paintball player the various states' laws are too strict.

In QLD paintball markers are treated as an airgun. That's quite a low level firearms licence.

In NSW they're treated as a Class C. That's quite restricted. If you go to a paintball field in NSW you can't legally lend a friend your paintball marker unless they too are licenced.

In Tasmania paintball markres, and paintball, are illegal.

There's always politicians calling for paintball to be banned as apparently it's a murder trainer, a terrorist trainer, too dangerous, not in the community's interest, etc.

Yes well every generation loses something unfortunately, it's their "loss of innocence", all part of progress I suppose, a time for planting and a time for reaping, something like that. For my generation it was fireworks. But we survived.

BTW,, coming from a seaside suburb, I used to do a lot of spearfishing.

Ask the Americans though and they seem to be deathly afraid of not having a precious gun beside them. Gotta wonder how safe that country really is...

Where is the freedom when one has to arm themselves to the teeth to go out to buy a loaf of bread and a carton of milk?

unfortunately due to our much smaller population, approx 1% of yours in roughly the same size area, and most of Australia would make Kansas look Nevada. Yes sometimes a few poor souls don't make it. Sometimes it is the vast distances, the extremely sparse population. Sometimes it is lack of funds sometimes political. It has never been because they are too poor, too disadvantage.

I think that the thousands that die in the USA due to no access to quality health care would be insulted in your using such a sad example to further your pathetic view.

    You are a disgusting person.

If I get banned so be it, it is MHO

A million apologies, I should have given you some credit as I had noticed it before. I knew there was something I liked about you, besides your having a brain and using it.

I think sometimes we need to stop and smell the roses, the smell of manure gets overpowering.

Sometimes I feel like buying a gun and shooting those that want to buy guns, then I slap myself, make a brew and put on some mellow music.

I think gun clubs should be allowed to have all sorts of weapons and then allow those who want to come on in and pay a little bit of cash and they can shoot machine guns, assault rifles, etc to their heart is content. Just flat out not allowing them except on the toughest of licences (job) is a bit silly. You don't get rid of the want by saying, "No."

Admit it. You all want to go to a gun club and shoot a VW with an MG42.

But if that doesn't happen, I don't think we will get overrun by gay black Muslim communist criminals.

One thing I have learnt young fellow, is that size doesn't really matter. And rapid fire is undesirable.
