Practically speaking there's little functional difference between a $500 pair of 'designer' sunglasses and a dollar store pair, and the average person wouldn't even be able to tell the difference anyway.

Personally unless I was a millionare I can't see myself spending $100s or $1000s on clothing or sunglasses just for a Gucci or Prada logo - I've got nothing against people who are into 'high fashion, as long as they're spending their own money.

Then on the flip side, we have this:

What? We are supposed to believe that the number one supporter of Iran and Russian media sources and resister of Jewish/US world domination and culture wears clothes produced for imperialists and slaves to labels? LOL

I, being an admitted lover of the West, do wear decent clothes; not that claiming to do so on an anonymous forum, matters anyway.

We all drive Ferraris on this forum don't we?

Not me, give me a pair of chucks, and a Dickies T, any day of the week.

This thing where guys have as many pairs of shoes as chicks do, is the continued femanization of this countries men!

I'm fairly metrosexual. I love skinny jeans, bright and loud shirts, colorful wristbands, and having long hair.

I used to have long hair. I miss it sometimes. I went bald, though. I do the Kerry King / Steve Austin thing now.

How is it feminization, exactly? It's not like men are wearing high heels.

Why do you need more then a pair of work shoes, running shoes, and dress shoes?

It is the continued feminization in the sense that it is justified by feelings, not logic. It makes you feel good to have 10 pairs of shoes, because of branding and social pressure. This is why women have so many pairs of shoes, body image issues, and dress to impress other women.

    Rationalization through emotions.

Baldness runs in my family, unfortunately. Hopefully by then, they'll pills or injections that can grow hair again.

Best of luck with that. It sucks. Mine used to be down to my ass. If I could grow it back out, I would. Fortunately, I look good bald. And I've started lifting weights, so it's kind of changed my attitude. As a lot of the people here who read my posts regularly will probably attest to. Lol!. 8)

What's cool is bald isn't what it used to be. It's a lot more socially acceptable now. It's so popular that there are guys with good heads of hair who are deliberately shaving it off for that specific look. The key is that once you get past the point of no return, just throw in the towel and run with it. Don't try to hold onto it after it looks like crap. It'll only look worse.

Custom made suits at work, (referred to as "corporate drag"), and tee shirts with jeans or shorts at home.

American guys of about 75 come here on holiday, and wear baseball caps, white trainers, and terrible trousers.

It is a fashion car crash.

The US has never made great clothes, to be honest, there is a difference between fashion, which they do well in, and style.

They have labels like Abercrombie + Fitch, which are just way too much of that preppy look.

I love preppy clothes, but yeah, Abercrombie is way too much. I usually receive their clothes as gifts.

Meh, style is subjective. And I've always found fashion to be pretentious and silly.

    Note the difference:

    Who?

Don't you like to feel good for yourself, or ever make an impression of effort to another?

I like to be COMFORTABLE...I don't have to impress anyone with how I dress. Usual attire is Dickies or Red Kapp work pants, boots, T-shirt (often car or Red Sox-related), and a hat...often denim shorts instead of work pants for summer.

I love to dress preppy and my dress style is fairly metrosexual, but one thing I always hate is how people think I'm fake or buying into a trend. Can't someone just like something simply for the fact that they like it?
