You'd said that citizens can be held responsible for the decisions of those, whom they elect-- didn't you? Well that would apply much more to Israelis, than to Palestinians in Gaza, who haven't been allowed to vote, for 17 years.

I disagree, that it was lobbying by the military industrial complex, which decided Pres Biden's course. Those arms manufacturers cannot even keep up with the demands of Ukraine, much less with Israel's needs, as well. Biden's first priority was to try to keep this conflict contained. His showing our support for Israel, along with the 2 aircraft carrier battle groups, have succeeded in sending the message to others, thus far, to stay out of it.

I feel Biden believed, in his personal, behind the scenes conversations with Prime Minister Bibi, he could steer Netanyahu away from causing the kind of collateral damage, we have so far been seeing.
Unfortunately, this choice by Israel both hurts the U.S. image, and makes attacks from others, both in Israel & on the U.S., more likely.

Just to pass along a report I'd read, in the NY TIMES, I think; or maybe heard, on T.V.: supposedly it is not Netanyahu's plan to take over all of Gaza, only Gaza City, and then do some more surgical strikes elsewhere, before handing off Gaza, to another party. Who that other party would be, remains to be seen. I think the article/commentator had suggested that Netanyahu might like that to be the Palestinian Authority, but that does not seem all that realistic. We'll have to wait & see how accurate is this reporting.

According to the plan, other countries had to be lobbied and agree that the Jewish State gets to ethnic cleanse millions of civilians across the border. And that plan got pitched even to the public. So that leaves little doubt what goes on behind closed doors.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...r-as-death-toll-from-hamas-attack-passes-1000
Israeli military commander Col. Richard Hecht urged Palestinians in Gaza to "get out of Gaza" and head to Egypt.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/11/politics/us-talks-safe-passage-gaza/index.html
A senior Israeli official told CNN that talks are “underway” to allow US citizens and Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip to exit the territory into Egypt
Israeli official said it was “in Israel’s interests” for as many Palestinians as possible to leave Gaza.

We also know Egypt put it's army at the Gaza border to make sure no the Jewish State is not going to deport millions of Arab civilians into their country.

And most of all. Nobody denies that this plan exists and was made for Netanyahu's government. That it might not going to work, is besides the point.
The plan was to go ethnic cleanse millions of Arab civilians non the less. And the way how, by depriving them from food, water, aid, by demanding they go evacuate to the south / near the Egyptian border, to start by basically carpet bombing the north... is still all according to the plan. As well as pitching their plan to other countries and want them to comply. The Jewish state simply is therefor run by a bunch of war criminals.

Do you see any evidence supporting the claim that Israeli Jews value the life of a non-Jew as highly as that of a Jew?

    NOVEMBER 3, 2023
Israeli Rabbi Describes Settler Rampages Across West Bank

"According to the Israeli human rights organization B’tselem, more than 850 Palestinians, including 13 entire communities, have fled settler violence since Oct. 7.

"Rather than the usual campaigns of harassment — burning down olive orchards, vandalizing mosques and assaulting Palestinian youth — settlers are now shooting to kill, and they have Israeli soldiers and police there to protect them."

I am not comfortable with generalizations based on someone's ethnicity, religion, race or nationality.

As for your question, I think most people (regardless of background) are more sensitive to the pain and anguish of those who they relate to most closely than those they don't. The main issues when it comes to Israel/Palestine, however, IMO ultimately arise from an imbalance of power coupled with and exacerbated by interest groups who fuel the fires of hatred, animus, and bigotry to further their agendas.

You put words in my mouth because you're arguments are so wanting. Not only did I not say that Israelis deserve death, but I never said the Palestinians deserved death.

Work on your argument, in the future...lol

So you're saying that some Israeli who ordered the massacre pleading himself to be innocent.
That's not proving anything. Jails are full of such people.

While somebody else claims it wasn't about weapons but about some Hamas terrorist being close by.
To having all kinds of different stories going without proving jack all, really is not helping the cause.

So you're losing it until you are actually proved it.

It doesn't solve the Jewish state who broke and keeps on breaking international law by having colonies in Palestine, who they expand every year / create new ones every year.

Hence the problem gets solves when all who breach international law are kicked out on both sides.

No, I didn't put any words in your mouth-- I simply showed you that your words could be applied in the opposite direction. For example:

    Wild Bill Kelsoe said: ↑
The Palestinians are murdering people, chopping off the heads of babies, burning people alive. They deserve what they get
    .

You here blame "the Palestinian" people, for the actions of Hamas; so Josh 77 pointed out to you that, from the perspective of a Palestinian, the IDF is murdering people, including children & babies, burying people alive, under rubble. So then do Israelis "deserve what they get?"

You do the exact same thing here:

    Wild Bill Kelsoe said: ↑
The Palestinians would just behave, it wouldn't happen.

And here, you blame citizens for the decisions of the people they had supposedly elected, even though Hamas hadn't held another election, since they were first put in power, 17 years ago

    Wild Bill Kelsoe said: ↑
Hamas is the Palestinian government, voted in by the Palestinians

So why shouldn't Israelis be accountable,in your mind, for the killings happening at the hands of the IDF? They certainly elected Netanyahu.

You see one as justified, and the other as terrorism. The point that both Josh & I have tried to bring to your attention, is that
one person's terrorist might be seen as another's "freedom fighter." Or that whether something is a legitimate military response, or itself, "terrorism," can be in the eye of the beholder:

The problem will not get solved until Netanyahu is also out of power, and Palestinians in Gaza are treated as human beings, not second class citizens in a ghetto. The disease must be addressed, not just the symptoms.

There is a wide consensus that the Jewish homeland bombarded a convoy of ambulances. Among players, the Jewish Homeland itself.
Your problem remains to be that only the people who committed the massacre say it's justified without being able to prove their point.
Jails are full of people who claim their crimes are justified.

I've not seen anybody deny that the Jewish state is the party who bombarded a convoy of ambulances.
You're just now deflecting away that you can't prove it's justified.

I read the opening paragraphs of your article, and they did not say what you alleged: that we executed POWs. If somewhere in the body of the rest of that article, it says this-- to support your claim, you must quote it. It is not incumbent upon us, to read through the entirety of your source. Your simply providing a link, is not enough.

While there might be truth to what you'd claimed, I cannot say how much, if any, from what I'd seen of the article you linked:

    <Snip>

During World War II, the Allies committed legally proven war crimes and violations of the laws of war against either civilians or military personnel of the Axis powers. At the end of World War II, many trials of Axis war criminals took place, most famously the Nuremberg Trials and Tokyo Trials. In Europe, these tribunals were set up under the authority of the London Charter, which only considered allegations of war crimes committed by people who acted in the interests of the Axis powers. Some war crimes involving Allied personnel were investigated by the Allied powers and led in some instances to courts-martial. Some incidents alleged by historians to have been crimes under the law of war in operation at the time were, for a variety of reasons, not investigated by the Allied powers during the war, or were investigated but not prosecuted.

According to an article in Der Spiegel by Klaus Wiegrefe, many personal memoirs of Allied soldiers have been willfully ignored by historians because they were at odds with the "greatest generation" mythology surrounding World War II. This has started to change, with books such as The Day of Battle by Rick Atkinson, in which he describes Allied war crimes in Italy, and D-Day: The Battle for Normandy, by Antony Beevor.[1] Beevor's latest work suggests that Allied war crimes in Normandy were much more extensive "than was previously realized".[2]

Let's not forget the allied send POW's in to clear mines. It was slave labor that send 1000's of POW's to their deaths.
