    And they're important issue is that we already have all of these laws that concern guns.

    If they are failing to enforce the current laws what on earth makes anyone think that some new laws going to affect criminals who already ignore the laws as it is?

    They're trying to do nothing but place stumbling blocks in the path of the law abiding

    passing new laws restricts the actions of the law abiding
    ENFORCING laws restricts the actions of criminals

    that's why gun control activists want more laws, rather than enforcing malum per se statutes

    Of course.... That's their entire goal. I know how we could stop shooting.... We can simply enforce the laws that make it illegal to shoot someone for no good reason.

    But no let's pass like 30 other laws that criminals will ignore and that will only burden the law abiding.

    light saber is what I really want. I have a Howard Clark Katana and a Mike Bell one too-probably the two best sword makers on the planet but a light saber would be far neater

    Those are vehicle mounted, not man portable. A man portable laser weapons that is the size and weight of a handgun, or a rifle that can fire lethal lazers the way a gun fires a bullet will never exist. The power supply to produce the energy required will be too heavy.

    Sure. Calculate the energy required to weaponized a laser and the then figure the weight of such a power source. You’d need a rather large holster akin to a battleship or large plane…. Yah, a Walmart buy.
