They can indeed win on the presidential stage if Republicans actually cared about the principles they profess to.
2020 for certain, if you cared about the principles you profess to care a vote for Trump was against those principles as much as a vote for Biden would be.

The more you fulfill this self fulfilling prophecy, and the louder you bleat about it, the angrier I get with you and your ilk.

Purists are great in theoretical discussions-they tend to lose in real life. Trump put three good justices on the USSC. voting for libertarians is why the Dems have the white house and the senate

How did that practical choice stand you in 2020 or 2022? Eh? Doing so well are we? Or are you just continuing to wallow in **** and pretend otherwise because hey they've got that little letter next to their name right? I mean Gaetz even offered he might one day maybe do away with the NFA? How does it feel to be dangled by a carrot like the people who vote for dems on the promise of legal weed? Gaetz is never going to give you that, he has no intention of it even if he had the power to deliver which he doesn't.

3 good ones? Lol no. 1 good one, 1 mediocre, and 1 also ran. Gorsuch is the only one worth their salt of the bunch, and barely only.
3 good justices: Let's assume. That doesn't excuse a vote in 2020 and you know it. The man is so unhinged he lost to a senile, doddering old pedophile who sniffs little girls on camera ffs.

No, you esteemed members of the community letting the fox inside the hen house and then stubbornly refusing to admit he's a fox and you ****ed up are why the dems have the white house and senate and you could BARELY get a simple majority in the house.

If he runs again its going to get worse and you know it.

So you agree it would be more sensible to ban handguns?

I'd rather make it treason for any politician to try to ban any firearm that civilian law enforcement has access to and deny said politicians any armed protection. Banning guns is both unconstitutional and favored by those who most engage in activities that would cause an honest citizen to shoot them.

Trump, may he live forever, is far more pro-gun than Biden. With Trump as President, life is good.

With our political system it is unlikely that any one person I could vote for would support 100% of my concerns, but Trump is absolutely wonderful at fulfilling promises.

    I love him, so much.

    08: Ron Paul
    12: Ron Paul
16: Rand Paul in the primaries then Gary Johnson as the only marginally acceptable candidate not likely to wipe their ass with the constitution.
    20: Jorgensen

Tell me who you voted for v Obama and how that worked out for you o wise and learned one who knows and sees all.
I'm ideologically consistent. I pick candidates based on the fact that they won't destroy the constitution the moment it becomes convenient for them. Trump has never fit that mold.

As a retired federal litigator who handled all sorts of constitutional issues, I realize that GOP picks to the federal courts are MORE LIKELY than Democrats to uphold the constitutional rights as written. EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT on the US SUPREME C COURT for the last 85 years has voted against the second amendment as properly interpreted. MOST REPUBLICANS have supported the second amendment.

And again: You assume your own premise, first creating and then fulfilling your own prophecy.
Further: I don't recall anyone in Miller being able to find their ass with a map, regardless of appointment status. There are a number of cases I could point to over such knuckling under.
Heller was the first real case where having a republican pick mattered, and that was because scalia was not nearly so bold when he was appointed or he wouldn't have been. Because Reagan is a grabber.
Its like Trump picking Gorsuch: A blind pig finds a truffle. That does not make it a magic truffle finding pig, nor does that mean WERE it a magic truffle finding pig that I'd want it to do anything but magically find truffles and stay the **** out of my house and downwind.
Nor, if I could find an alternative, less repugnant truffle finder would I continue to demand we let the pig sleep in the ****ing bed.

you are confused about what happened in Heller. Fortunately I know what was going on so I will educate you. Breyer was lobbying Kennedy constantly. Breyer-along with Stevens (one of the worst RINOs ever on the court) kept telling an erratic Kennedy that Scalia wanted to throw out most of the new deal and the Gun control act of 1968 which banned felons, fugitives, those adjudicated mentally incompetent, illegal aliens, etc from owning guns. TO keep Kennedy on board, Scalia put that dicta in-
