I posted similar, but the post was lost in Database Error. PF Roulette, it kids you it's a like/thanks and then shafts and taunts you. I can hear the Admin laughing.

Viv , the PF Staff / PF Admin can laugh all they want , but it seems to me as though they'll be laughing to themselves , as many posters have left PF for other web-sites .

I don't think anybody's laughing, HB. Hopefully the folks who left will come back IF and WHEN the upgrade is ever finished. With one feature a month, maybe by 2014?

... make demselves an enemy of God (Jas.4.4)...

... now don't ch'all go reachin' fer dat dislike button...

Shortly before my post (#63), I'd been given 6 thumbs down in a row by the same member in the same thread. I'd only had one prior to that. In this particular case, the member I was conversing with was apparently annoyed by my insistence that they add some weight to their argument.

That's a record! I've gotten 4 from the same member in the same thread. That little button seems to make them feel they have great power... I think it's hilarious. Especially when they use DISLIKE in place of a rebuttal, thereby admitting they've got nuthin.

    Notice it's a liberal thing?

    I have.

    Just a suggestion~
Might as well close the thread and save all the time dealing with people fighting.

Who's fighting? I think it's funny as hell the forum gives us a new feature we're not allowed to talk about.

Guess they'd rather delete our posts than admit they've created a monster. ROFLMAO

I haven't really investigated...or noticed if someone already addressed it, but is there a way to independently access the "likes/dislike" page...like with the "reps" page?

Not sure if I understand what you're asking... but if you go to Quick Links, theres a link to the tally page for Member Likes & Dislikes.

You know how you can click on "settings" and see your list of list of reps, is there something to click on that takes you directly to a list of likes/dislikes you've received? The reason I ask is... if I get notification of multiple likes/dislikes and click on one to see which of my posts was liked or disliked, I have to hit the "back" button to go back to the like/dislike list to check the others.

    help?

It's probably staring me in the face....please bear in mind, I'm an old dog, and heavily subscribe to the notion that with computers, there are no stupid questions. :)

Not sure if discussing moderation, making remarks about other posters with whom you disagree, and/or flaming are discussing the merits of this feature, not to mention dismissive remarks about the forum in general.
C'mon folks, constructive criticism is always welcome, but what is this whining one way or the other supposed to accomplish.
This feature was suggested by a member, who will reveal him/herself if he/she wishes to do so, and the forum owner is trying to make this place enjoyable for as many people as possible. That's not to say everyone will be happy at all times.
Come up with some reasonable ideas and suggestion, do so in the appropriate forum, and it will be taken seriously and discussed as a possible option.
    How about it?

No, the system is entirely neutral!! All it has done is reveal the petty and ignorant nature of the average poster at this forum.

PS. Why is it that everyone has the EXACT same excuse? "I got my post disliked!! It is obviously because the person who disliked my post is a stupid liberal/conservative, who can't match my brilliance and therefore just disliked my post because they have no other recourse." Did it never occur to some people, that they just sometimes(for some members it is more frequent than sometimes) write terrible posts which are disliked because they are terrible?

Heck. From PF's own accessable link. "Survey says !":

    Top 5 Dislikes (Given)
    Montoya (196)
    Johnny-C (174)
    raymondo (160)
    RiseAgainst (74)
    Jack Napier (42)

See a pattern ? That was the point ;)

It's all in how you look at it, Frodly. For example, I started a thread earlier about Big Govt that had absolutely no partisan issues, but it got disliked. You'd have to be pretty stupid to think somebody disliked it because of the topic and not the author. Unless somebody's really dumb enough to think our govt isn't too big.

It's a game designed for cowardly liberals... and they're loving it.

No problem for me, I think it's hilarious. Like Web's signature sez... every dislike means you've hit a lib nerve. I consider it a badge of honor.

Just click on the notification popup and it'll take you to your most current list. (If I understand what you're asking)

I used to be on a political forum that had Likes & Dislikes; but being political and very partisan, it went 'amuck!' The better the political dig, the more Dislikes from the opposite side..i.e. some of the best posts racked up the Dislikes!..I saw it as being pretty Chicken #### of the other side ..

BTW that forum failed and is no longer around, altho I've seen some of it's members here on PF...

If I click on "notifications" (that is not "lit up" light blue), it takes me to my PM inbox. If I click on "settings", it takes me to my "infractions / reputations" page....

I'm asking if there is a way to get to my "likes/dislikes" page independently of actually receiving one..."out of the blue" as it were.

I see using a Dislike on a post if the post is: vulgar, w/o any merit irregardless of which side it represents, blatantly untruthful, w/o humor but primarily mean-spirited, etc. Off-hand Puns can still bring humor into debate, often to cool both sides...

But I prefer not to use the Dislike feature, but rather answer with a follow up post and avoid using just 'the cheap shot.'....

EDIT: 4got to add that the thing I like about "Likes" is that there is no daily nor no. limit

Unfortunately, I know from clumsy fingers that you can do both to the same post. And I was unable to undo it. As an example, I just did both to your post, and am unable to make a change.

Are you sure that you werent just ambivalent regarding my post?! [IMG]

BTW, I'm going to remember this Dislike and hold it against you in the future---you know, me being an intolerant Con & all...
