Of course you are aware that testing isn't a treatment or a preventative measure?

Yes, it can. Republicans are likely to cause a depression if they don't change their policies on containing COVID-19 and their unwillingness to support businesses, big and small, and workers when COVID-19 is impacting consumer and business spending. Trump's own Fed Chairman has come out twice and said Congress must to more to support the economy with fiscal stimulus.
Some businesses (dance clubs, pro football in packed stadiums) must stay closed to stop the virus spread because consumers increasingly stay home if the virus is running amok.

You do understand where the government gets the money it spends don't you?

Trust me when I tell you that you don't know as much about the economy as you think you do.

It's pretty simple, isn't it? When the virus is running amok, a significant portion of the population stays home and cuts their spending.

    You sarcasm doesn't become you.

If we could have held on until we get effective treatments, a cure, or a vaccine, a lot of the dead CIVID-19 victims would have died of something else, often years later.

But that isn't what happened. People didn't stay home till the government mandated that they do so.

So the government locked us down so nobody at all could be out and about as a solution to businesses losing revenue?

Who told you that? It was a mitigation strategy to contain the virus. Containing the virus has the secondary effect of getting business back up and running

    If you think you know...

How did we pull more than ten million workers out of the economy (to fight), take much of what everyone left could produce, fight a world war, and not have a depression or runaway inflation?

The government killed it, not the virus and the government will have to give permission for us to try to get up and running. A lot of jobs simply aren't coming back, the employers are out of business. The only group that survives this much inactivity is Congress.

We came out of a terrible depression, still known as The Depression, by supplying much of the allied equipment for that world war. When that war ended our mfg system was in position to make us the power we are today.

Explain. In fact, recent news explained that there is an immune system gene that is demonstrably correlated to the severity of patients' reactions to this bug, and it's that severe immune system response that leads to death in younger people, at least (e.g. the blood clotting).

Did you think that people would voluntarily lock down? They sure didn’t in Sweden until it was too late.
I had to curtail my business tremendously and would not have done so we’re it not for the state mandates.
Thankfully they did that. It would have been an even bigger disaster here in NY had they not

We supplied a lot of equipment, yes, but who paid for it?

    Wiki says:

To a degree that will surprise many, the US funded its World War II effort largely by raising taxes and tapping into Americans' personal savings. ... During the War, Americans purchased approximately $186 billion worth of war bonds, accounting for nearly three quarters of total federal spending from 1941-1945.
