Well now there is some irony.

A lady that has made a living showing folks how to prepare fatty, deep fried, heart stopping food seems to no longer be able to eat the garbage that she peddled.

Perhaps if she had not stuffed her gob full of dripping, oozing fat she would not be in the situation she is in.

So y'all just get some good ol' southern comfort food.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-31749_1...n-expected-to-reveal-she-has-type-2-diabetes/

All of the high-calorie, butter-intensive, fatty foods Paula Deen has whipped up over the years may have finally caught up with her.

The 64-year-old chef is expected to announce not only that she has Type 2 diabetes, but also that she inked a multimillion dollar deal to become the new face of a Novartis drug used to help treat the disease, reports The Daily.

Last spring, the National Enquirer reported that Deen had been diagnosed with the diabetes often linked to obesity.

Now a source tells The Daily, "She's going to have to start cooking healthier recipes. She can't keep pushing mac and cheese and deep-fried Twinkies when she is hawking a diabetes drug."

Insiders say the Georgia native has started changing her cooking approach and will soon make healthier options available at her Savannah, Ga., restaurant, The Lady & Sons.

Her son, Bobby Deen, has already jumped on the healthier food bandwagon. Earlier this month, he launched the series, "Not My Mama's Meals," on the Cooking Channel, where he creates less fatty versions of his mother's old-fashioned Southern recipes.

Ah yes, one of her favorite recipes, the "Lady's Brunch Burger".

Bacon, a fried egg, and a a burger patty all served between two Krispy Kreme donuts.

what's next? you're going to be picking on minority boys that were dumber than a box of rocks in school, but were really good at getting an orange ball in a hoop suspended off the ground?

sure she should cook lighter, but if she did, you never would have heard of her. cooking shows are theater.

where is your proof that she eats everything she cooks, or even that she has the dreaded fattie disease? :ignore:

I am not sure how that relates to Paula Deen's fat and calorie orgy.

Well, the article does say she is expected to reveal that she has diabetes, so I guess we will have to wait and see.

As for the "proof she eats her own food", well, I think I am just going to assume by her portly appearance it is a safe bet.

they both are making use of their talents.

an OP about a story about a rumor....you have no right to critize any OP ever again. :bored:

 if she ate all that, she'd be way bigger. drink 4 cans of Coke a day and you'll put on 60lbs over a year. it's not the occasional egg & bacon McDonut that gets you, it's the habits.

The irony being Deen's talents appear to have brought her to the disease which she now has.

Oh, okay, thanks for that tip.

Please note the thread is in off topic.

Right. it's the habits. Perhaps Deen's habits have led to her being overweight and having diabetes.

If you're shocked that Paula Deen has diabetes, than I hate to tell you, but there is gambling going on in Rick's.

She looks like Patty Newton! Holy hell, what a shock that was.

Not surprised that someone who has eaten crap food for years would have it work against her eventually. The good news is that Type 2 diabetes can be cured.

No it canot. With diet and exercise you can manage to live without medicine but if your not careful your blood sugar will go right back up again.

that looks interesting, maybe the bacon and eggs and meat would drown out the taste from the sugar glazed on the doughnuts

if that is the case that wouldn't look like a terrible meal although it would cause diabetes on a daily basis

Actually, there have been some studies with gastric bypass patients that show that type 2 can be cured. The trick is to get the patient weight down to a level that the pancreas can generate enough insulin for that body weight. At that point, you can go off meds.

Why the need for medication when the person just needs to get off their butts and eat a salad?

Sure it is. Want to lose weight? Put down that fork, do some gentle exercises building up gradually, and eat healthy. Very simple.

Meh, she can still eat the foods she makes, she just has to regulate how much and exercise some with the help of meds.

This will be the next thing the authoritarians attack. Expect big taxes on these types of foods in years to come.

First it was tobacco, now it's unhealthy food.

I don't disagree with that. You would think that getting a diagnosis of diabetes would be a wake up call. But I imagine if the person had the willpower to control their weight they wouldn't have let it get to the point to get diabetes in the first place.

I guess people think that they don't need to take action if they haven't gotten ill. They probably think that they'll worry about it later on.

Wrong, even normal weighted folks can get diabetes. It can strike anyone at any age. Even little children. If left unattended to long it becomes a killer disease.
