Anti-masker science-deniers have already proudly proclaimed their intentions not to take any COVID vaccine. And while they do it purely for political spite its actually a smart thing to do considering a rushed gen 1 vaxx is likely not to be anywhere near as effective as a controlled lab study claims once unleashed to face a contentiously morphing wild virus. Personally I don't trust it and wont commit right now to taking it.

I just hope this current administration doesn't do something stupid like find a way to order emergency approval just so Pres Trump can add a feather to his cap. This vaccine needs to be peer reviewed up and down the street from country to country and long term side effect analysis is needed before it should be given full approval for open distribution. And until that happens we keep up social distancing, shutdowns, and masks 100%.

You need to widen your horizon a tiny little bit.
The certification process for this vaccine is already on going in Europe. Do you think the US would just watch or stand by when they start vaccinating in Europe.

Wow. Governor Cuomo may not let New Yorkers get the vaccine until Biden takes office. He thinks Trump's distribution plan will be through Walgreens, CVS, and hospitals.

So New Yorkers get nothing until January? Sounds like a fair and non-partisan decision Governor Worst Covid Cases/Deaths in the country. Didn't know that vaccines were "Republican" and "Democrat". Oh well, more vaccines available for red states if he wants to play politics with his citizens' lives.

Actually it is already all in the works in the US and in Europe.

    Common sense...

He wants everybody to get it, and Trump won't do that, and NY can't afford to do it without Fed involvement.

That doesn't mean you can't get it through your insurance.

I know you are desperate, but...

Notice how Cuomo couldn't answer the question about Biden's plan? Because so far, Biden's "plan" has been exactly the same as Trump's plan. LOL

And how does he or you know what Trump's plan is?

Birx said there will be limited quantities available initially, so widespread distribution will take some time. The "CDC Plan" (not Trump's or Biden's) is just to get the vaccines to nursing homes, elderly, schools, and vulnerable minority populations. What do you bet that the "CDC Plan" will be Trump's plan and Biden's plan?

Cuomo's is a schmuck for making any of his citizens wait until Biden's in office, but he already killed most of his nursing home residents so maybe he's not in a hurry anyway.

Repeating BS doesn't improve it, he won't make anyone wait.

As always, with this disease, what is needed is a solid national plan, and that is something you don't expect from Trump.

I also doubt Trump will do anything constructive at this point, quite the contrary.

No he will not make anybody wait. At the best there will be 10 to 20 million doses available this year in the US and they will all go to the first responders first. Since it is a 2 dose vaccine only 5 to 10 million people can be vaccinated.
One can only hope that the current government makes now a serious effort to built a distribution infrastructure.
If the government wants to go out on high, a lasting legacy, which may save hundreds of thousands of lives, this would be it.

I am seriously worried that the 2 month left for this government will be come wasted time, concerning vaccine distribution infrastructure and the virus over all.

I will not be taking any vaccine for the same reason I don't take a flu vaccine--I'm lucky that my immune system is robust. That is because I supplement my diet with items that strengthen it, and I frequently expose it to mostly benign foreign things like ant bites and thorn stabs.

That is, I'm not doing it for political spite.

I'm doing it in part because I'm also intellectually immune to the bullshit advertising promotions of Big Pharma. I know how they work.

Where has Trump acted beyond his authority? I can think of one possible case. The strike on Syria.

Plus circumventing Congress on tax and spending clauses, in the very least.

Aside from that, there's just the general animosity he has (since well before he took office) toward the 1st Amendment and toward any Constitutional limitations on his office, his rampant corruption, etc. etc. etc.

I have heard a lot of vaccines announcements before and after the election. These companies are racing each other to be first and get into the news. It wouldn't make any sense for them to delay their announcements when they will get paid no matter who wins the election.

Germany thinks that a 50-60% vaccination rate will do the trick, in the first year the vaccine is available. Over time they expect to reach higher numbers, without a mandate.
Mandates would come from employers, airlines, hotels etc. Companies policies will establish a high vaccination rate

Cascade systems using common refrigerants like R134a can easily reach those temps. Want to go low tech? Dry ice is -78C as a solid. If we can create a RNA vaccine don't you suppose we can figure out how to apply decades old technology to keep it cool? I know this sounds crazy, but I’d be willing to bet the vaccine developers/manufacturers have put some thought into this. If not, I’m not sure I’m impressed with their competence level...
