'Play it down': Trump admits to concealing the true threat of coronavirus in new Woodward book

We westerners are very well coddled, not to mention gullible. You are talking about less than 1 million Covid deaths in the entire world in nearly a full year.

Did you know that in the entire world, people in their prime of life (15 to 60 year olds) have a 14.2% chance of dying each year, and older people are more likely to pass than people in their prime years.

Compare that to a fraction of 1% of people dying from Covid.

If they threw the daily number of deaths and diseases from all causes in our faces every hour, every day, we would shrug off Covid deaths as the tiny percentage they are in the actual scheme of things.

This is media created hype and hysteria at this point because they are only drilling one cause of illness into peoples' brains. We had reason to be overly-cautious when this started and the few models we had available predicted apocalyptic numbers. Those numbers were not born out over time.

No offense, but I'm seeing a lot of bad or outdated data. Of course I zeroed in first on Texas, where the map shows cases are increasing, which in incorrect.

Then reading through the "reopens" versus "restrictions", the detail paragraphs mostly have detail from May and June, with a few mentions of July actions. Even if they say the data was updated Sept 7th, it looks like months-old detail.

 

Are you following Trump's medical opinions? Me neither.

Are you following the CDC, local and state advice? Me too.


....and 25% of US deaths are attributable to two of the states which were infected early in the pandemic.

We're on the downhill side of this pandemic, everyone is armed with medical advice and knowledge. Whatever Covid-Word-Salad Trump and Biden want to toss back and forth for the next two months is irrelevant in the big scheme of things.

Trump may be downplaying the virus, but Biden's extreme overplaying couldn't get much more exaggerated than this!

They even have the cars social distancing. All 10 of them.

I'm not sure why you think that. Cases are still rising in a few states. A second wave is expected to start as soon as everyone in cold climates starts going inside, which is soon.

 

No one can predict how bad a second wave may be. My gut instinct says we may have a spike in cases, mixed cold/flu/Covid, but a lower ratio of hospitalizations and lethality than we saw over the spring/summer first wave. Some portion of the population has gained immunity, some seem naturally immune, and viruses tend to get more contagious but less deadly as they naturally mutate. But, my crystal ball has been on the fritz for decades, so don't hold me to my instinctual prediction.

 

Less than a million dead worldwide, but think about how we had to get to that number. Countries closing up borders, business and social gatherings. So it's not really a fair comparison to say COVID accounts for a small percentage of worldwide deaths.

 

Bob Woodward has never had anything good to say about any President that was not a Democrat. I find his opinions on anything as well as his fake Trump tapes to be less than relevant.

Nobody has ever answered my simple question about this: Were the Trump tapes in Woodward’s possession ever authenticated, and if so, by whom?

 

It may not be "fair", but it is a fact.

And in hindsight, closing down businesses may have been completely unnecessary. Fauci and some of the other medical experts knew that masks would reduce transmission. They could have been honest and told us to wear any type of face covering when we can't social distance, except for the professional medical masks, which were needed for the front-line medical workers. The day they said they were only telling us we did not need masks because they thought we'd hoard the short supplies, was the day they lost a lot of public trust. Companies who sell the medical masks could have easily been directed not to sell to the general public, but to direct them to the medical industry.

 

There were regular and daily direct flights from Wuhan, China to Anchorage, Alaska where I live for almost 2 months after China had first “discovered” COVID-19 on December 1st, 2019. I thought that we had all agreed that COVID-19 did not just magically appear out of thin air on December 1st, 2019, but I guess we forgot to ask you about it first. Think about it.

 

There are 9 hours of tapes. I expect that they plan to dribble out "worse and worse" soundbites as we get closer to election. Good question though. Do we ever get to hear the entire 9 hours in context, unedited.

 

So when are you NOW claiming you got Covid-19?

 

Has Trump stated he did not spend all those hours with Woodward? Has Trump stated he never agreed to be taped? If so, please cite your source.

 

September 25, 2019 was when I first started experiencing symptoms; the same symptoms that are consistent with other cases of COVID-19. The virus was “discovered” in China a little over 2 months later on December 1st. I don’t understand why this is so hard for you to believe.

 

Don’t answer my question with a question. Was the tape ever authenticated, and if so, by whom?

 

But nobody was dieing from the ailment that you had. I too picked up a bad cough from that time, but I don't consider it Covid-19.

I do not know if it was authenticated. Why do you suspect it is fake? Has Trump made this claim? If Woodward completely made it up, don't you think Trump's press secretary, at a minimum, would have said, "The president never met with Woodward, so it's 100% fake news?"

Key question - why do you think it's fake?

 

First actual documented case was 12/31/2019, in Wuhan. Were you in China in September, or are you claiming it's the "United States Flu?"

 

That doesn’t prove their authenticity. Hillary Clinton never denied having people that crossed her murdered either. Does that prove that she did?
