Well, the Roman army did get around....

I grew up meeting some of my great Italian uncles out of Chicago who were connected with the MAFIA....they looked & talked like it---could have been xtras in the TV show The Untouchables.!

So, dont mess with me, I got connections!

 

We had some sweet potatoes for lunch, just baked, nothing else. Either they are esp yummy this year, or we were just hungry for some.
How about a sweet potato jello shot? Does that work?

 

Geesh, don't brag about your mob ties, they'll make you a mod.

When I have the traditional Thksgiving dinner, I forgo all the salad, jello, etc. and go right for the turkey, dressing, mashed & sweet potatoes and hopefully Green Bean Casserole.....sometimes it insults those who brought all the salad/jello stuff, but I can have that any time of year! Cant eat like I used to, so later its both a sliver each of Pumpkin and Pecan pies. I'm done..where's the couch and the FB game...and much later, post-pies, it's board/card games (the kind that dont require 'thinking!').

Hey, yeah some of my posts pop up immediately and some disappear for a minute. So it's not the cocktails. Not yet atleast

 

It takes a while to settle down when you're new. Just keep posting and it'll level out soon.

 

I think things are fully online now. But I wont be till this turkey's done...

Turkeyday is officially over for me. Leftovers put away, kitchen clean enough to wait til tomorrow. I'll be checking out here soon, but feel free to carve your initials on a barstool and come back anytime you need a break.

And a happy post Thanksgiving to you! Now it's time to think about Christmas and all those traditional television shows and whether or not all that holiday season cheer causes the onset of high blood pressure or diabetes -- too much straying from a healthy diet.

For Thanksgiving I stuffed and roasted some Cornish Game Hens and on the side had lemon and oil and spices coated roast asparagus with wild rice. For some reason the wife wanted a 'salad' consisting of only sliced cucumbers and tomatoes with salad dressing. I didn't ask why. The roasted hens were delicious as was the asparagus. Wild rice I can take or leave and the 'salad' was just texture to me. Oh and for beverage we had apple cider. All in all dinner was a success . . . for which I was thankful.
