It also seems the problem is also more common with Win7 IE users than WinXP or Vista IE users.

Yeah, I think that one of the things I learned was that it didn't happen with my Vista/IE9 laptop, but did happen with my Win7/IE8 computer at work. I suspect that some forthcoming version of Java or Fllash will have a fix for it, and nobody will ever acknowledge that it was even an issue.

I too suspect a Flash conflict. In my case Java was not the issue.

I will do more eading on it, if I find anything conclusive, will pass it along to you guys.

    Thank you (both) again.

Yeah, on the times when I've observed it, it's seemed to me as though something in the page loading of IE that causes the Flash application to hang and not fully load. That's what it looks and "feels" like. Still can't prove it, though. Just a hunch. But thanks for your help on this; we appreciate the additional info!

So you guys know... it happened tonight while using Win7 IE9. I checked with XP IE8, was fine, XP FF was fine.

Returned to Win 7 machine maybe 10 imnutes later, and it was viewable again.

Apparently it causes dyslexia too! hahahaha

I am not one to go to fancy upgraded versions of other search engines. I don't use firefox, I have Windows XP and use google as my browser. I don't seem to have any problems with internet explorer and windows is set to update itself.

Sometimes people talk so technical here it's above my head...lol. My laptop runs fast enough for me, enough memory for someone who doesn't download much (except what's necessary). I use AVG as my virus program and I won't upgrade to Windows 7 or 8, I forget..lol.

Maybe that's why I usually don't have problems with most websites that I visit. I use a wifi from Verizon that is 4G and it seems to work well now.

I am the least tecky person I know.

    Hi Jiyuu! *smile*

Unfortunately, support for XP will be gone in 2014. If I may make a suggestion to you, when the time comes to upgrade (for whatever the reason), purchase a Win7 machine, you will be pleased. It is a good system, with zero learning curve from XP. ;)

Win8 seems to me, designed for tablets and phones, not computers. :p I don't care for it.

In my opinion, Windows 8 is specifically designed to drive people to cut their own throats in despair. Stick with 7, Jiyuu, and preserve your sanity. 8 is complete crap.

Thanks for your opinion and I will be sad when XP goes. As soon as this one goes I may go with the Win7. I had it on my desktop and it seemed okay to me.

I am getting hooked on my ipad. It's just a substitute to have some fun. I mostly buy some good reading!

    Update:

Although the incident mentioned on page 5/#44, happened only once, and for a brief time. Something I neglected to mention at the time, is, on occasion when viewing a music video, it would momentarily stall, then resume play.

I attempted to find information on the issue, which proved difficult. I did find numerous complaints, but no credible solution.

    To the point.....

A week or so ago, I updated Flash to the latest available version (at the time, at least), and since doing so, there has been zero stalls playing/viewing music videos. Zero.

If anyone is still experiencing the issue, I recommend updating. Although still early, I can say, I have played hours of music/video without interruption of any kind.

    System info...

    Flash player version - 11.5.502.149

    OS ------------------------ Win7 64 Bit

    Browser ------------------ IE9

Below is a link to find the current version of Flash on your computer.

Haha, ya well I just purchased "Fix cleaner" to speed up this laptop. By golly, it works and so does Avast for my anti virus.

I keep getting the message from Windows to upgrade to 8 and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get rid of that menace.

Sometimes they are there sometimes just a black box. Windows 8 and Firefox. Just noticed as I was replying to a post with the black box that the clip DID appear to me in the text box to respond in. Went back and where there was a blackbox hit F5 to refresh the screen and there it was, the clip and viewable.

Just checked my settings and that box is already checked and I'm having problems loading some video links from youtube. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I've yet to find a pattern.

    Frikkin i-frames.

Ok... so when following the OPs suggestion, upon save, the php converts from
    video]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-7U2vNvycY[/video
    to
    video=youtube;b-7U2vNvycY]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-7U2vNvycY[/video

In fact if you reply with quote, you can see that both boxes above display the same, even though the second one I have saved several times now without the video identifier in there... yet it appears on save... some function of the php.

Both embed an iframe. iframes came from IE... and other browsers sometimes display iframes oddly... however, if what the OP says is correct, I am somewhat mystified by it, as it does not appear any different once submitted. I will look further.
