    Government does not equal socialism.

Fake News. No he isn't. Socialism doesn't work, though were it possible to make it work, though everyone else has failed, Trump probably could make it work. But, in this Great Nation we have a constitutional democracy, only someone with the Brains of a Biden would trade our Constitutional Democracy in on a Socialistic Totalitarianism.

    That's what he does.

Setting drug prices, signing the three biggest bailouts in history, huge subsidies to farmers, sending checks to families...

Isn't that socialism on the planet where you live?

No. We have every right to negotiate drug prices. I'm glad that you are so pleased with his excellent work. When you ask folks not to work, paying them for idling them is not a "bailout" is just recompense. Farming subsidies have with us for 80 years, yet, your credit Trump with them? This is some Biden Level "Analysis" right there.

The stimulus will pass. In one form or another - money will continue to fall from the tree for at least a while longer.

Unbelievable that once again, the Democrats are shilling for SALT.

Giving the rich that tax break really seems to be the most important item on their agenda. It shows up constantly.

No doubt. The more they spend the more successful they are. Hopefully someone will beat some common sense into them.

I'm hoping the voters will, with as much a complete shift of the senate away from Republicans as is possible. If they're not smart enough to realize that it's necessary with the disaster they have helped cause during this crisis, maybe an actual lesson they feel in their pockets. on how Republicans couldn't care less about them, does.

Sure, if you think people in the house aren't worried about reelection. Pretty much what you are getting at is that these stimulus bills are just a big payoff for the public and politicians who don't buy the votes wont get elected. Pretty much sums up my reasons for why I hate big government and especially the democrats who specifically focus their welfare spiel towards blacks every election.

Except the blue states are the ones who are having massive shortfalls on their state budgets and begging the rich to come back before they raise taxes on those still in the state.

And only for the rich? No poor or middle class person will benefit directly from SALT?

They are. But very few people even know who their House Rep is. Many more know who their Senator is.

Only if you believe that governing to benefit the people instead of the donor class, is "buying votes".

You might be projecting, but lofo voters probably wont know either.
Yes, its buying votes. And you are completely saying that's the reason for the senate to pass it or get voted out. Frame it how you want, either "compassion" or "bribery", its still giving them money for their vote.

I'm a supporter of single term limits. I want voters to vote against every incumbent. That, at least, would put the house in republican hands and senate in democrat hands maintaining the all important gridlock.

No, this is a rich man's benefit.

The current SALT deduction is limited to 10,000. I think it's unlikely that many middle class people are going to benefit with a deduction of state and local taxes above $10,000. The benefit was unlimited before, and that's what the dems want to return to.

Well, that makes no sense, as you of course realize. Why would people vote out a representative in Congress who is doing a great job?

Vote out those who spend all their time in office looking for ways to get re-elected without regards to whether it benefits the people they should be serving or not.

Yup, all that humble bragging by Left-wing Millionaires demanding their taxes be raised, and with the SALT cap, they were raised, and now they are singularly focused on getting it removed. It's a tax their accountants can't wiggle them out of, I love it!

Democrats are all for blowing up the deficit with tax cuts for the rich. Pelosi is taking food off the table of oppressed minorities so she can get a nice big fat tax cut for her wealthy white privileged donors.

Are you sure? I see that the Congress is supposedly going to skip their August recess to work out a deal, but it seems that the rank and file are going home anyway. It reeks of delay and putting on a show with no real goal of passing this.

Oh, but maybe you're right? I hear Trump might do this through executive action if Congress can't do their jobs. That reeks of overextending one's power. But desperate times call for desperate measures. If Trump does it, then I think he deserves to have his name signed on the checks the IRS sends out.
