I agree. The enforcement of 'bad guys' caught using guns for crime is not enforced as it should be, IMO. Some of the left wing ideas about how to stem crime don't seem to be working, but I'm not an expert at these things. I see the usefulness of trying different ideas in isolated places to see what works and what doesn't, but in a country where the laws vary so greatly from area to area, even within the states themselves, it's hard to come up with local solutions. And from what I've seen, some work and some don't. We could be more proactive on actual rehabilitation of criminals that are imprisoned, both before and after imprisonment, as recurrence is a major issue. The bottom line is that criminals tend to be lazy on actually working for a living instead of turning to crime. Easier to steal someone else's hard work than work hard for it. I believe this is learned as youths, from parents and peers. If there is to be major changes made, it must begin at home.
There are ideas for solutions, some are expensive, some take a lot of work, and some are both. Taking the hard line approach usually leads to a bunch of arguing and no real solutions.
I think there is a lot of common ground to be found between pro gun and gun control people, but it will take some cooperation and understanding, along with the all important dialogue to come up with actual working solutions.
Thank you for participating in that!

the issue I have is that most of the LEADERS of the anti gun movement are trying to ban guns and only pretend they are trying to reduce crime

We have a lot of groups with agendas in this great free country we live in, and they have leaders for all, but the true leaders are, or should be, the legislators at the local and national level. They are the ones who can actually make a difference, and they will answer to the voters, which theoretically puts the power back in the hands of the people, or at least the ones who vote. Honestly, the internet has interfered with this balance, as one can find affirmation of just about any loony idea out there.
I personally am heading a group who is opposed to Jewish space lasers and their use in starting forest fires.

    That's a joke, btw.
Seriously, people need to cut back on social media, or at least understand it for what it is. Too many are being roped in by Youtube, bloggers, 24 hour opinion channels, etc. and start using their critical thinking skills more. For example, Alex Jones makes millions a year because so many take his efforts as truth. He makes money from fear and suspicion. Yet very little of what I've read about him is valid for any type of critical thinking solutions. Many of the more controversial stuff on the internet is solely put out there to make money.

I agree, it’s really stupid to allow access to firearms for the same group of liberal whack job morons responsible for dumbing down our education and turning our kids into anti-American robots.

Local bars can hire their own professional security, why the F can’t the schools?

Your link said it's a proposed bill, did you not read it? Currently, it's in the Senate and they want to hear from more insurers and experts. Don't lose your s&&* just yet, and no they haven't banned all the books, take a break from the Rachael Maddox bong.

The only thing the right wants is for the wacko teacher's union to not force your kids to be taught all about pedophilia or get gay sex pictorials before they're of age. They want your kids to learn scientific truths about genders and understanding about alternative lifestyles. They want them to be respectful of others but not at the expense of forcing them to lie due to feels of someone else. I can call you a girl, but you are a boy, and it's not my job to push your personal false narrative. They also don't want your kids to learn the fake history CRT is pushing, the very author tells us it's fiction. Instead, they will be taught to be color blind, work hard to have an opportunity to achieve your goal, and always respect others, and use historical failures as lessons to do better in the future.

Where are the "good guys with guns"? Couldn't they man-up and offer "militia" patrols to put all their treasured firearms to some helpful, useful purpose?

Your conspiracy about registration is yours alone. BTW, since the state is paying for the weapons, those purchases are a matter of Iowa public domain.

We have already discussed this. You also forget, that each teacher is going to need training and a background check. That is going to cost money too.

Use volunteers. There are millions of qualified retired veterans and police officers who would be happy to station themselves at card tables on every floor of every school for coffee, donuts, free WiFi, and a school lunch.

    I repeat for possible comprehension:

Noitice the problem is voluntary to the schools and training is specified"

    Case closed,

Now the schools can get rid of the huge neon signs that tell would be shooters the school is a Gun Free Zone. My guess is the shooters will move to the next school that does have a Gun Free Zone sign posted..

My guess is that has nothing to do with why they target schools

You should try a bong and you will think clearly ;)

    https://iowacapitaldispatch.com/202...Lawmakers in the Iowa House,with a 61-34 vote.

Most districts have already approved i, and the Iowa Senate has the votes to pass it.

You may want to lay off the crack pipe. NOBODY is teaching pedophilia. Teaching inclusion, i.e. that gay and transgender is OK, is not pedophilia, no matter how many times you say it.

    I agree 1000% that
In rightiwinglandia, teaching slavery is “CRT”. NO, it’s factual history. You righties seem to forget that racism was legal 50 years ago. We’re not talking about slavery, we’re talking about legal racial discrimination.

CRT is they “why”, not the “what” Teach kids “what happened”, and then we can move forward

what kind? And how would it translate to civilian life
I know it kind of firearms training they do and why they do it. I meant to Police academy so I've had police firearms training which is not really training.

Agreed. That's why those people should have guns
let's hope not because Scott show up 30 minutes after you die.

No they should be allowed to have a firearm just because they're there or keep the police there all the time.
what else would you want more kids to die in school because of a mass shooter? Sounds like that's what you want.

Is it because dead kids make better leverage to try and trick people into gun control.

This is great news. Who thinks that killers should be the only ones armed? These sick killers choose soft targets so they can rack up a body count. Finally, someone considers our children worthy of armed protection.

Im not sure why ones opinion on teachers pay is relevant, but if you want to make it a factor, how much are the killers getting paid?

Maybe because they take the safety of themselves and loved ones seriously and don't depend on police showing up in minutes when seconds matter?

Do you know what training there is for military and police. It's a simple question you don't have to run away from it but you often run your mouth about stuff you have no clue about so I don't know why this would be any different.
