    Once again WRONG!

Clearly YOU haven't met many pro-choicers or you have NEVER given them a chance to EXPRESS themselves, before you started spewing your own BELIEFS of what you THOUGHT pro-choice means. . .

Obviously people will not speak to you openly if the first thing you do is to accuse them of being "pro-murder!"

    DUH!

Flip flopping it around is the only way the analogy works. If a woman is forced to carry and labor for the fetus throughout pregnancy and childbirth because the fetus owns the uterus, the SHE is the slave.

We tried that with the "baby bonus" - didn't work except more teens decided to get pregnant, have the baby then the "baby daddy" would take off with the money and leave the girl penniless

Our abortion rate did not falter

No, it's more like 9 months of pregnancy (don't trivialize as "inconvenience" please) plus a year of recovery before a woman's body is back to normal.

THERE ARE NO BABIES at that stage! There are only fetuses. .. the "potential" for human life. . .NOT FUNCTIONING human life.

If those fetuses are terminated before they reach maturation (or a viable stage in the maturation process), they are not "weak" and OBVIOUSLY they have no choice. . .as there is NO MEANS FOR FETUSES TO MAKE CHOICES! They are the egg to the chicken. . .the seed to the flower, the cloud to the rain.

If you go to a restaurant and you select a chicken dish on the menu, would you accept an egg as your full meal?
If you go to a florist, and pay to have a bouquet of sun flowers sent to your mom for mother's day, would you accept it if the florist delivered a bag of sun flower seeds?
If the farmer is desperate for rain to save his crops, do you think he will be relieved and his crops will be saved by seeing a couple of clouds travel overhead in the sky?

I bet! I am pretty sure you wouldn't even vote for the healthcare act to assure that the child and his/her mother would have access to proper health care ONCE the child is born!

That would "increase the deficit!"

not comparable to death. you'd feel differently if you had a relative who was aborted. got all your hopes up for a new family member only to see their life crushed without ever getting to see them.

please dont compare pregnancy to death. the two are incomparable. hardly an even trade. people treating you like gold everywhere you go and what not. seriously grow up. if the human body was different and during the birth process the mother always died. then you would have a fair argument. which obviously is not the case. so give your inequalities a rest will you

well im not going to address ageist comments. i dont judge by anything. age, race, skin color, size etc. a person is a person. Scientist have proven that life begins at conception. so to deny that a person is alive just because they arent a certain amount developed is 100% racism and just used as an excuse to escape responsibilities and kill for convenience bottom line

This has nothing to do with "ageism" since the age of a person is not measured until birth.

But your own proclamation that a fetus is a person doesn't make it so.

No, that is not a proven fact. From an online science textbook:

"Current Scientific Views of When Human Life Begins

Current perspectives on when human life begins range from fertilization to
gastrulation to birth and even after."

Where do uou get that crap?

Please post a FACTUAL link that shows that ANYONE wants to FORCE an abortion on anyone else, including rape victims!

What I've heard is that stupid, hyper religious people want to FORCE rape victims to carry to term a fetusthey don't want and are in no way responsible for creating in the first place.

I even heard that kind of BS cost a couple of politicians their jobs!

    Get real!

It's not about size silly. . . It's about the presence or absence of all (or at least some) of the characteristics that MAKE humans.

What I said: "Pop culture promotes an unhealthy image that entices women to make poor decisions. We should shun this image and encourage women to respect themselves."

What you heard: "Women are the problem."

Scientists have not proven that life begins at conception. Read more carefully. Life already exists at conception in the form of egg and sperm, both of which are human and alive. Read more carefully: some textbooks will say "an individual life begins at conception" or something similar, which is totally different from saying "life begins at conception."

While a person is a person, a zef is not a person.

The problem is that those characteristics are all arbitrary and have been redefined over and over again throughout the course of history to justify dehumanizing various groups of people and making them socially and legally acceptable to oppress, enslave, or kill. 200 years ago in this very country, it was just as obvious that black people were property because they were purchased. You pay for something, you own it. Pretty cut and dried. Today we can obviously look back on that line of thinking and recognize it for being as warped and twisted as it was. But in its day, it was not only completely socially acceptable by half the country but also totally legal. Let's not forget that throughout history, the law has often times been on the wrong side of human rights. The point is that human behavior doesn't really change that much from era to era. Part of our lower animal nature is the need to step on someone else for our own gain, be that personal advancement, comfort, or simply convenience. And we always rationalize to ourselves why this time is different than every time before. But the truth is that the only thing that ever really changes is the semantics.

    Nice rant!
Are you a 6th grade teacher? Or are you a student taking his first year of social sciences?

Please don't try dogmatic crap with me. It's a waste of my time. This Social Science 101 was very interesting the first time we heard it. . . today it is just so evidently basic philosophy mixed with a lot of crap that it is futile to repeat it.

"Human life" in the form of clusters of cells have been expelled NATURALLY since day one. And. . .we share a lot more of our DNA with animals than ANY "White supremacists" would want to ever realize.

Yet, we still butcher beef for our own consumption and we still kill for oil and for power.

The cluster of "human" cells is as far removed from a living, functioning human as a the hair you leave in the morning in your bathroom sink, or the drop of blood that suddenly appear on your finger if you cut yourself.

I am tired of your semantic. The best measurement we have of the value of human life is in our consciousness. I am satisfied that I value human life to its full extend, and that I have given that respect for human life to my children and my grand children. This is one of the reason why NONE of us allows guns in our houses, and that everyone of us would rather lose our "TV" or our wallet than to shoot at a LIVING human being.

Now. . . go back to school and try reading Social Sciences 202!

Wow. You're being awfully defensive here. Are you sure I didn't just make you face something you're not comfortable with?

Haven't been on this thread much, have you? Sadanie is probably the veteran on the subject of abortion around here. I'll leave it to her to give you the facts.
