Yes, it seems that this site is back on google, and in fact is now the #1 search result when one types in "political forums" to the search.

Perhaps I was a little too quick to accuse google, but it was good that I immediately recognised the problem.

I found it hysterical that a conspiracy actually brewed from this. What the site owner admitted was a logical fault....and is now proven to be the cause...as the damage is fully undone. Google is completely automated, and while PF is big, it isn't nearly big enough to garner the eyes of someone human at Google. Simply put...the corporate giant really in the end doesn't care what you all think. Great conspiracy though ;)

It works fine for me too now, but a week ago I lost my bookmarks and couldn't find the address when I googled it. Glad it's been fixed.

Knowing who is online at the moment is more important than knowing who the newest member is - at least from a Moderator point of view, when knowing who is online is vital.

Since 1 March Google records all searching therefore many people use BING instead of Google.

I posted earlier in this thread that Google will only record your search history IF YOU LET THEM.
    http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/320137

    1. Go to the google homepage and sign into your account.

    2. Click the dropdown menu next to your name in the upper-right hand corner of your screen.

    3. Click accounts settings

    4. Find the "Services section"

    5. Under "Services" there is a sub-section that reads "View, enable, disable web history." Click the link next to it that reads: "Go to Web History."

    6. Click on "Remove all Web History"

When you click on "Remove all Web History," a message appears that says " Web History is Paused." What this means is that while Google will continue gathering and storing information about your web history it will make all data anonymous, that is, Google will not associate your Web History information with your online accounts and will therefore be unable to send you customized search results.

Google's ability to gather personalized information about you by assigning data to your Gmail and YouTube accounts will remain "Paused" till you click "Resume."

They are still tracking you even if you do what you have stated.

    2. You'll be tracked. No matter what.
Building up to today, we and many other tech experts have suggested you clear your Google Web History (here's how). It's clear now that although this is a good move (you should do it), it won't stop Google from collecting your data. By clearing and stopping the official tracking of your Web activity, you only prevent Google associating that collected data with your Google account.

But let's be clear: this does not stop Google from tracking your Web activity. Meaning, your searches will still be followed and stored on Google's servers for "internal use," even if you're not signed in. The information could still be used to build that profile about you and, ultimately, allow Google to sell ads specifically tailored to you.

Google has run into the EU regulators already so we will have to see how long their new privacy policy lasts,at least in the EU.

Thanks for your information but I do not believe that Google indeed remove all information.

exactly, therefore better to use BING which is comparable with Google and do not collect information about you.

It's a simple fix to not allow tracking. Firefox options and a single click.

There's also an add-on called "Better Privacy". Look into it and stop being so darned paranoid, people.

I have better privacy thanks and that is not going to stop you being track on the intenet, nor is your privacy button.

    This from firefox

Warning: Private Browsing doesn't make you anonymous on the Internet. Your Internet service provider, employer, or the sites themselves can still track what pages you visit. Private Browsing also doesn't protect you from keyloggers or spyware that may be installed on your computer.

Look at the picture again, see where it says tracking?

Any person with a slight clue can figure out how to keep yourself from being tracked. If you can't then use the internet wisely.

The I do not want to be tracked button on firefox does not mean you do not get tracked. It is voluntary if websites track you or not,it even says that on the firefox website,I guess you missed it.

When you turn on the Do-not-track feature, Firefox tells every website you visit (as well as their advertisers and other content providers) that you don't want your browsing behavior tracked. Honoring this setting is voluntary — individual websites are not required to respect it.

What criteria are you using to form your opinion. Try hitting new posts, or any other forum, and take a look at the topics. Most threads are started from the right.

I doubt Google is actually reading your email but scanning for keywords to suggest advertising links.

Is it a privacy concern? Not as much as people think or claim, they're not selling personal information, or your email for that matter.

Actually they are reading your emails, they are just getting a machine to do it,hotmail do not do this so I see no reason why google should invade people's privacy.

That's why you use the additional add-ons that are readily available.

This isn't rocket science, if you don't want to be tracked and take the adequate steps, you won't be tracked.

It is clear from your posts that you do not know what you are talking about. First off you were claiming that private browsing would stop people tracking you then when called on that you went on to the do not track me line and when called on that you are on add ons. Please give it a rest and also save the snotty attitude.

I gave detailed instructions telling how to erase your search history from Google and stopping them from collecting further browsing history.

I explained about the Firefox add-on called "Better Privacy".
Better Privacy serves to protect against special longterm cookies, a new generation of 'Super-Cookie', which silently conquered the Internet. This new cookie generation offers unlimited user tracking to industry and market research. Concerning privacy Flash-cookies are most critical.
This add-on was made to make users aware of those hidden, never expiring objects and to offer an easier way to view and to manage them - since browsers are unable to do that for you.

I showed a screenshot of the Firefox options dialog box to show how tracking can be handled.

and I don't know what I'm talking about?

I'm telling people that tracking done by websites CAN BE foiled if you use your brains.

What have you done besides snivel?

I put you right when you claimed wrongly that somehow deleting and pausing your web history was going to stop people tracking you,I also put you right when you claimed that ticking private browsing in firefox is somehow going to protect you from being tracked,it does nothing of the sort and I also corrected you when you pointed out that the I do not want to be tracked button was somehow a wonder thing that stopped people tracking you. I told people to get a VPN which stops people tracking you.
