Why is it that besides the elderly, blacks and hispanics seem more susceptible to covid?It's the comorbidity of diabetes and heart/blood pressure issues brought on by a horrendous diet and obesity.

when you look at the hispanic and black population in FL, it's around 43-45% or over 9 million folks. Why is it that Asians seem less effected by covid? Might it be due to their lower obesity rate?

So, you are more than welcome to lock yourself in your room and mask up. Those who have abused their bodies have made themselves a high risk person when it comes to viruses. We cannot turn back the clock and fix bad choices of those who put themselves into harms way by abusing themselves. Here's a thought. Take a spray bottle of water and spray it into the air. See what happens. Now, take that same bottle and spray it through a mask. Same result? If yes, you're correct. If no, you are seeing what the mask is preventing live and in-person.

The problem with your analogy is that if you create one seat-belt out of twine, and the other seat-belt out of rubber bands, neither is going to protect you in a crash. Such the same for surgical-masks and cloth-masks. Both give you nothing more than a false sense of security, and surely that's not going to protect you either.

Maybe if we were all wearing respirators your seat-belt analogy might apply. But I don't think that's going to be happening anytime soon.

 

Do the experiment yourself. All you need is a spray bottle, set to mist, and a paper towel. Does the paper towel stop some of the mist from getting through? If all we can do is slow down the spittle coming from our mouths, than that's all we can do. It's one of the easiest science experiments you can do.
