Why would trained CCW teachers be any more of a threat than your average CCW? You know the impressive stats regarding CCWs and how law abiding they are.

No students would even know which teachers are carrying.

Nothing, no road rage, shoot outs, duels, or anything rose up as you banners feared happened. In fact crime has gone DOWN.

If that's the case then why don't we hear shootouts at gun ranges? People can get mad easily there. Guns not working, can't hit the target, someone next to you is shooting something that sounds like a cannon, lots of things. An armed society is a polite society. If people have no control then why don't you see them running into the field? Besides who said that the same people who can't control themselves are the same ones carrying guns? People who carry are in fact MORE law abiding than your average citizen.

Not with some good training. I'm going to take a wild guess here ...

My guess is that some teachers are already carrying concealed firearms with them ... and we don't even know it. Not the students, not the other teachers, and not the school administrators.

What do you wanna bet? I'll put a Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Pale Ale on it.

Then comment there instead of trying to degrade me with my beliefs unrelated to this topic.

You can easily overcome or circumvent that one person. If however you have to guess whether someone is armed then you might think twice. BTW RARELY CCW holders, when forced to shoot, hit an unintended person. Cops however hit unintended people all the time.

That's another one of those unsubstantiated emotional opinions. How do you reconcile the fact that there are millions of parents with CCW'S that are around children all the time or the many, many more millions of parents with guns at home where bathtub drownings exclipse acidental gun deaths of children which is an extremely rare occurance.

And yet you are doing just that. You are sanctioning policies that have been proven as putting many minors at risk, by leaving them in a soft, target rich environment where the only protection against a mass murderer is to hide, and call the police for help, all the while hoping that they can arrive in a timely manner, and are actually available to respond.

How many victims were at Sandy Hook, where only Adam Lanza was armed?

Gee whiz I guess all the armed teachers I saw in the rural parts of Israel were simply a filament of my imagination....

I think it would test the mettle of a lot of newly armed teachers.
I would hope that their training would include something about avoiding the inevitable situations where a student would challenge, or even try to provoke a teacher who the kid thought was armed.

In middle school, I saw a female Police Officer detain a 15 year old and frisk him for drugs, she found a large ziplock bag with much drugs, he simply tried to spin around and hit her, her gun never left it holster, She gave him enough Shutokan to send him to the Horspital for a few months......

That was the greatest demonstration unarmed self defense I had ever seen.

thats because most of us who have CCWs are people who like competitive or recreational shooting. When Ohio first allowed CCW I took the first course a prominent shooting range offered even though I was a federal prosecutor who could carry under Ohio law as it was. of that class of 25 or so, there were at least 7 people in that class who had at least USPSA class B ratings and a couple guys who along with me had been 60X PPC shooters.

Very good work ! I helped train a few classes like that, we used LE training methods and FBI tactics.

And for the record, I have never shot the wrong person, only the criminal, another gun grabber myth put to rest.

Hence why you carry the most consistent and accurate performing handgun you have available,, one handgun oddly enough that fits this criteria is a Glock 17, just watch Hickok 45 shooting one if you need proof.

One of the the things I have notice is more frequently than not, first time licensees, return to the range not only practice, but to take additional classes. I can remember when we last held intermediate through advanced classes that weren't sold out. In some of my advanced classes, particularly in the combat simulations sessions we do, I occasionally learn from a student who is a competitor, swat or combat veteran...part of my enjoyment is the sharing of knowledge and technique and the comradery that goes with it; I met some very good people that have been icing on the cake.

the guy who started a weekly summer "Steel league" at the biggest gun club in SW Ohio is a former SF and former "mercenary" in the RLI and now a CCW instructor who created the league for "tactically relevant and fun practice". He often gets 80 people a week to shoot and I suspect almost all of them are better shooters than most local LEOs

Most students I had the honor of teaching became better than your average LE Officer, and many went into it so seriously, as to far exceed me in expertise,,

    and I often said ;

"The student has become the Master !"

    Karate Kid quote.

Not degrading you, just ensuring that all your beliefs are well documented and understood by all. I am sure there are those whom agree with you on both fronts.....

In theory I agree but most teachers are leftist scum and anti gun so the point is largely moot

You haven't been to Florida lately, have you. The point is when Florida adopted "shall issue" concealed carry laws, soon after, the violent crime rate dropped here faster than in the rest of the country. CCW holders in FL have had a lower violent crime rate than police officers per capita.

Too many times, hence my answer.

    That is fascinating.

What does that have to do with guns in schools?

I'm not a Neo-Communist, so first of all, I believe all K-12 public schools should be controlled and funded entirely by the local residents.

    It's called "Democracy."

Moving on, the public should decide policy for their school. If the school is in a very liberal area populated and controlled by liberal fruitcakes, like NYC, Sandy Hook or San Francisco, then they will continue to keep the students and teachers unarmed and helpless. It there is an active shooter or terrorist bomber, then the best they can do is blame the gun and bomb makers.

In the local urban school in the Swazilands across the river, the city school districts has hired their own private police force of 136 officers to treat the violent, disruptive and disrespectful students there with kid gloves. They don't want city police taking their young thugs to jail (as they so deserve). Even they have guns.

What a waste of their tax monies. By allowing volunteer teachers an staff to carry their own weapons the schools would be much safer.

However, these school would be made most safe by having a "Zero Tolerance Policy" for students who are security risks. One major screw-up, and you are done. Those who don't need to be jailed for their actions should be expelled and placed in alternative schools with soul-crushing discipline.
