The antvax assault on the health of America's children is WAY more than just "unpleasant".

It's doing very real damage and there is absolutely zero justificatin for it.

If you care about mercury, then go after the sources of contact that our children have with mercury - water (such as Flint), fish (such as tuna, but many others), air (such as coal fired power plants).

Beyond that, remember that limits for exposure are written into law as regulation, but the US right wing assaults regulatory enforcement - which was one of the roots of the brain damage of every child in Flint, MI. Blocking regulatory enforcement is just one more way that children's health is being harmed - including by mercury.

I do like that you are concerned.

But, the assault on vaccinations is absolutely unjustified, especially when considering the real problems that DO exist and that childhood vaccines don't contain the substances that antivaxers claim as the justification for the assault on children's health in America.

You need to retarget your efforts toward the actual exposure to harmful compounds and what we need to do about that.

 

Let's remember that Trump ORDERED the FDA to give emergency authorization that cut short testing - with that order raising doubt about whether authorization was politics or science.

So, today all those being vaccinated are essentially a continuation of the testing that the FDA chose not to require.

It won't be long at all before we have way more information about the safety and effectiveness of these vaccines than we would normally have obtained through standard FDA procedures

Using these refusals as a justification for not being vaccinated at some time in the future is a little bit stupid.

It's about as stupid as refusing to be vaccinated on the grounds that some didn't want to become part of the fist human trial.

It's more than reasonable that there would be people who want the assurance of more testing before they get vaccinated. And, that's logical even before considering those who have conditions that might cause vaccination to be a slightly higher risk - like having allergies related to medicine, etc.

So, there's no reason not to take the vaccine, but if there was, it's Trump's fault. Is that about it? Trump politicized the vaccine, did he?

What politicizing the vaccine looks like is Phizer waiting until just after the election to announce the results of the phase 3 trial, thereby denying Trump the opportunity to take any credit. Of course, once the election was secure even Biden gave Trump credit for the vaccine. It's about the same as Pelosi refusing to make any deal on COVID relief until, in her words, "we have a new President".

Now that Trump did all the heavy lifting, Biden can take credit for leading us through a "dark winter". Pffft ..... F... Joe Biden and the Kamala he rode in on.

The point is that people have reason to believe the FDA decision was political rather than medical. I identified Trump, because that is who ordered the FDA to give emergency authorization. So, YOU can verify my claim.

Vaccine testing has been followed and the public has been informed of progress.

Trump did absolutely NOTHING. So, claiming he did "heavy lifting" is about as silly a statement as one could concoct.

Beyond that, NOBODY in science based medicine thinks this is over. Vaccinating the public is going to take a long time - during which even those vaccinated are supposed to be wearing masks, social distancing, etc. That's going to leave Biden with a message that Trump has NEVER bothered to deliver - even when those methods were absolutely ALL we had.

CDC and other experts point out that there just isn't enough known about COVID immunity to suggest it's all going to be a miracle of instant recovery. And, we're still contending with a strong group that opposes science based medicine and thus suggests that they will NEVER get vaccinated - thus adding doubt to the possibiility of artificially creating herd immunity - a major objective of vaccine based solutions.

 

You are hellbent on having it both ways, aren't you? That takes a special kind of logic.
