    I googled/read several definitions, and children are not basically immune to Covid19?

    So you can only argue semantics but don't disagree with the fact that children are basically immune to the effects of the virus.I'll take that as a concession.

    It does if my words mean what I mean them to mean.

    Only after it had been stated that "Trump made it clear he was talking about the disease," (Post #10) did I inquire directly concerning that observation, "Was Trump talking about the disease when he proclaimed early on that he had "under control" and would just "go away" because ""We have very few people with it... The people are getting better! They're all getting better!"?

    Yes 0.8 percent of children exposed even get sick according to the BBC citing a study of 55 thousand people.

    Yes, so they are indeed virtually immune but Twitter and YouTube will gag you if you say this on their sites.

    This is why I suggest people abandon Twitter and YouTube

    Another subject? Why did Trump make that claim? It was to support his belief that all schools should be opened. And as children have been proven to contact the virus and spread it, it doesn't really matter if they are immune or not. What matters is that the gathering of children is a community health risk.

    There needs to be a forum where every thought should be allowed to be expressed barring pedophilia, military secrets or other members personal info unless that member has chosen to disclose it himself.

    This site is the closest I’ve found so far.

    I just hope that personal relationships between the mods and members don’t interfere with the open dialogue and sadly I have reason to think that it does.

    Subject of the OP was the media trashing Trump for rightly claiming children are basically immune.
    On the related subject you bring up can we and are we locking kids in their rooms for the duration or are they out playing with other neighborhood kids so what's the difference in sending them to school?

    /facepalm No, it doesn't. Let me copy/paste this for you to read/re-read:

    Become infected with virus -> develop symptoms consistent with disease -> severity of symptoms necessitates medical attention -> clinical efforts are unsuccessful at mitigation progression of disease -> the body's organs are damaged to a point of functional instability -> you die.

    Immunity implies the first step never happens NOT that the chances of progressing to each stage lessen due to age. President Trump was technically wrong but furthermore it is the impression that his comment makes, furthering anti-science anti-mask anti-shutdown sentiments, which is the more dangerous part. Twitter and FB were right to strike his posts down.

    We can argue over the exact definition of immune forever but the fact that leftist have nothing but semantics to trash Trump with is telling.
    What word should Trump have used that you would agree with? What word would succinctly describe the following and make you happy.

    Personally I think "basically immune" is perfect .

    death rate is 0.01 in children 15 and under

    Most sentient entities detect a discrepancy between Trump braying that he had "under control" and that it would just "go away" because ""We have very few people with it" and "The people are getting better! They're all getting better!" vs the U.S. currently leading the world in cases and in deaths from the coronavirus.

    A few seem incapable of comprehending that vast divergence of words from reality.

    You know that I accurately and precisely quoted Trump as his words are well documented. His lie about children being immune is yet another falsehood in that persistent pattern.

    We don't have to its a pretty easily understood word, heh, but like I said it is the impression that his comment makes, furthering anti-science anti-mask anti-shutdown sentiments, which is the more dangerous part. Its not only semantics its also the fact that hes saying dangerous things and given that hes incredibly influential it needed to be addressed.
