And I was greeted by about a dozen extremely polite and professional armed employees... good guys (and gals) with guns in other words. I wonder why there is never a mass shooting at a gun store. Anyone have any ideas?

Hint: There is no "gun free zone" sign in the window.

And there's never been a mass shooting at a gun show, gun range, or police station where guns and ammo are most prevalent.

There must be a reason. But for the life of me I can't figure out what it is.

I'm always amazed at how polite people are at gun shows. I've been to dozens of shows, but it strikes me every time. Color, sexual orientation, whatever, it doesn't matter. I never hear so many sirs, maams, pleases, thank yous, etc..... anywhere else, even church.

Edit: I've seen black people having an intelligent conversation with Confederate flag hat wearing white people and both of them were enjoying it.

Owner Killed, Three Shot in Attempted Robbery at Gun Shop
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/owner-killed-three-shot-attempted-robbery-gun-shop-n283326

Well that took about five seconds.

Oh yes, and in order to have a mass shooting, you need a large crowd.

They will never do it again. And they did it for the money. The OP is talking about mass shootings where the killer wants a death toll because he hates somebody. It seems they steer toward "gun free zones".

And the owner will never sell another gun. Didn't work out so well for him; being well armed and all.

The OP is talking about a mass shooting at a freaking gun store! You don't have a mass of people in a gun store.

If no one in the store had a gun, the owner might still be alive. I wonder if his family considers the capture of a few thugs worth his life.

Cherry picking news is what many gun people need to do because otherwise they might get the big picture.

Meh, a couple of thugs tried to rob a local gun store but ended up with holes in their heads.

That’s what happens when a good guy has a gun.

Yeah, I'd love to see the cretins below try to rob a gun show.

Publishing a news photo is now racist? I guess I hadn't got the memo.

Been in a gun store lately. In some they are so busy you have to take a number.

As for daylight robberies at gun store's, these happen very, very infrequently and usually turn out quite bad for the thief.

Most guns shows do not allow loaded firearms into the building. (Loose check at the door)
Not for fear of robberies but because of the remote chance of a neglient discharge which skyrocket's insurance rates and makes for very bad press. The rule is usually a wink and nod but it is quite effective. I have never been unarmed attending a gun show nor have any of my friends.

Well the reason people own guns is simple. If you are armed its less likely you'll be a victim.
I always like using this very simple hypothetical.

Would you be more or less likely to steal a bar of gold from me if I had a 12 guage pointed at your face?

And you prefer the owner not be armed so he could be kidnapped, tortured and then murdered? Typical gun banner.

Do you ever wonder why you don't see a 'gun free zone' or 'This home is proudly gun-free' sign in an anti gunner's yard?

Can you tell the class the difference between a retail store and an airplane?

just the ability to commit mass murder... the largest mass murder in Ameican history... with a box cutter.

Imagine how that would be different if people were allowed to have guns on air plains.

"dumb ass terrorists attempted to hijack plane with box cutter died from gunshot wounds."
