    I knew that Lincolns views evolved. My point was that the OP guy created a thread on a very silly statement and that statement was that no Republicans owned slaves prior to 1860.
    What the OP is going is playing that same old BS game of Dems like slavery Repubs did not. Just as today some people chains that the Republicans are racists Democrats are not. People with low knowledge of history fall for this type of crap.

    I will be derisive against posts of that nature because posts like that do not deserve any respect. Notice I said posts not posters.

    I previously mentioned the tables have turned since the KKK, Arian nation,... are drawn to the right part of the Republicans. Them republicans don't want muslims and dont want latin Americans. That's exactly what nazi like groups want.... a white society. So do your best to keep track of the discussion.

    Republicans have nothing against Latin Americans other than there are laws delineating how citizenship can be obtained, and crossing the border illegally puts illegal aliens outside the law as lawbreakers.

    Republicans don't want Muslims because Islam is the religion doing 99% of the terrorism in the world.

    Last time I checked,... they want this massive wall between the US and Latin America. That aint some sign of massive friendship.

    So that, and the feels against Latin America.... it's all supports the agenda of the nazi's/KKK/Arian nation of keeping out the brown people etc.

    I don't know who "one of you" is or who is you. Nor have I compared the Democrats of today to the Democrats of the 1950's and 1960's. They are quite duplicit in their nature and once they lost the Civil Rights and Voting Rights battles recognized they needed to go after the black vote in order to win them over so Johnson created the biggest government handout in our history to buy the votes and make blacks political slaves to their party.
    It was the Democrat party that gave home to the segregationist. Even after the Dixiecrats after they lost the political bid all returned right back into the Democratic party and held leadership positions there and in government.

    So the democrats (general) didn't "lose the Civil Rights and Voting Rights battles" --
    just the conservative southern democrats.
